Coach Howard Schnellenberger has been part of four collegiate national championships and two Super Bowl championship staffs. His 1983 Miami Hurricanes won the school's first title, defeating Nebraska in the 50th Anniversary Orange Bowl. He was offensive coordinator for Paul "Bear" Bryant at Alabama, when the Crimson Tide won championships in 1961, 1964 and 1965. He is one of only 10 active collegiate head coaches who have won a national title. Coach Schnellenberger has developed an offensive system that has produced the likes of Jim Kelly, Vinny Testaverde and Bernie Kosar among others. Today, Coach Schnellenberger, head coach of Florida Atlantic University, looks to utilize his 42+ years of experience to build a winning program at FAU. Below are coach Schnellenberger's personal responses to your questions! 1. Who is the best football player that you ever coached? (Joy D.)

Eight years before directing the greatest comeback in NFL history as a member of the Buffalo Bills, Frank Reich produced what was then the greatest comeback in college football history as Maryland rallied from a 31-0 deficit to beat defending national champion Miami, 42-40.
By Sal Maiorana
CBS SportsLine Historian MIAMI - (Nov. 10, 1984)
- The bedlam in the locker room had subsided, the tears of joy and disbelief had dried up, and now, Frank Reich was left with the daunting task of trying to make sense out of what he had just done. "It's something you wish everybody could experience so they could have the privilege, the feeling of how it rushes in you," said Reich, trying to express the burst of adrenaline that coarsed through his veins as he was leading the University of Maryland back from a 31-0 halftime deficit to a 42-40 victory over defending national champion Miami. "We did the impossible because no one in the world would think we could come back from that many points behind against Miami," Reich continued. "We were embarrassed in the first half. No one likes to be embarrassed. We had to save our pride so we pulled together. You've always got to believe in athletics that you can do something like this. People might not understand how, but I honestly believed we could. And if we all didn't believe, it couldn't have happened."

Sports Commentator - Every 2nd Monday AskMen.com Specials Pages: Today's Articles < Previous Page Some thoughts on the "incident" in Chicago What I don't understand in the aftermath of the reprehensible attack on first-base Royals coach Tom Gamboa, is the lack of action on the part of the parties that were close by. Both the first-base umpire and the first-base player for the White Sox just stood there watching while two pieces of garbage wailed on the 54-year-old coach. Why did it take the Royal team running out of the dugout to save their coach? Why couldn't the professional athlete at first base and the able-bodied umpire do anything to stop the attack? How do these two men look themselves in the mirror? I know that some of you will say that the attack happened so fast and people were in shock, but the sight of a man on the ground and two shirtless idiots on top of him should spur anyone on. I just couldn't get enough of the replays of Royal players swarming and obliterating those two jerks. What happened to the days when streakers and people that ran onto the field were punished when caught? Nothing deters moronic behavior more than having an arm broken or a rib cracked in front of 30,000 people.
