"To me, it is nothing personal with me," McMillan said. "For whatever reason, he made it personal. When he left, he made a lot of bad comments about me and what I did to him. I thought that was wrong. I was really disappointed that he felt the way he did with all that I tried to do for him, as far as giving him an opportunity, teaching him whatever I could to play the game and be effective, and giving him opportunities to play when he sometimes didn't deserve it. But any reaction, even a negative one, came as a relief of sorts from the medical tests and questions about his future that have haunted Vin Baker recently. The much-maligned Celtics center returned to Seattle last night for the first time since being traded by the Sonics, along with Shammond Williams, for Kenny Anderson, Vitaly Potapenko and Joe Forte in the off-season. He also returned to the Celtics after missing a game against the Sonics in Boston last Wednesday, being checked by doctors in a hospital after feeling lightheaded and experiencing heart palpitations earlier in the week. "The return is what I expected," said Baker, who had nine points in 16 minutes in Boston's 82-76 victory at KeyArena. "I heard quite a few boos, but I'm just excited that our team came out and played the way that we did and got the win."

He also gained an estimated 25-30 pounds, denied rumors that he was having problems with drinking and depression, feuded with teammates and coaches, went from Option A to Option D in the Sonics offense. ...
