REGGIE LEWIS PEER LEADERSHIP PROGRAM The Reggie Lewis Peer Leadership Program is a program about positive young people going out into the community and educating other young people on STDs, HIV/AIDS, Homophobia,Tobacco, Birth Control, and Violence Prevention. The Program is operated out of Dimock Community Health Center's Teen Center. The Program's mission is to bring youths to the Teen Center to become positive young adults through healthy lifestyles and educational workshops. The Reggie Lewis Peer Leaders are usually high school teens who work out of Dimock and promote education for healthy living. There are anywhere from six to twelve peers working at the Teen Center. There are a number of events that the peers sponsor or participate in, most of which are facilitated and operated by them with the aid of Darren Clark , the director of the program and the Program Coordinator. There is an annual Teen Health Jam that the peers put on in the Teen Center. Other members of peer programs come and set up tables to share information on a number of issues that effect the youth in the community. There is entertainment, prizes, and games. It's an afternoon of fun and learning. The Reggie Lewis Peer Leadership Program also sponsors a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament that takes place in nearby Marcella Park, where participants play basketball on opposing teams. This activity promotes team work and overall unity not only in the Peer Program but also in the neighboring community of Roxbury. The Peer Leaders participate in theatre at Dimock and put on at least two major productions annually. Teen Night at Dimock, usually on Friday nights, allow the teens in the community to come together and discuss prevalent issues, watch movies, and spend time together, and out of trouble.

Below are the top 50 shooting guards from the 1990-91 season. Not surprisingly, Michael Jordan crushed the field once again. I've also included some stats from the season to give you an idea of how they ended up with their rating. Keep in mind these ratings are on a per-minute basis, so some players may be ranked very highly if they played well in a limited number of minutes: 1990-91 Top 50 Shooting Guards More rankings: C PF SF SG ... It also seemed an object lesson in the relativity of medical truth, and in the perplexities perhaps even the questionable ethics of equally eminent specialists making highly public, completely contradictory diagnoses. Malpractice suit pits basketball star's widow against his doctors
By Alexis Chiu, Associated Press writer
BOSTON Six years after Boston Celtics star Reggie Lewis dropped dead shooting baskets, a malpractice suit went to trial yesterday in an attempt by his widow to restore his reputation and collect the millions he could have made.
Donna Harris-Lewis contends her husband's doctors, some of the city's most respected physicians, misdiagnosed and mistreated the basketball player's fatal heart rhythm disturbance.
The doctors say Lewis used cocaine and lied about it, making an accurate diagnosis impossible.
The lawsuit is against Dr. Gilbert Mudge, who led the specialists, and Drs. Mark Creager and Peter Friedman, who were consultants. A third consultant, Dr. John Rutherford, recently reached a undisclosed settlement with Ms. Harris-Lewis.
"If the proper treatment had been given, Reggie Lewis would be here today," said plaintiff attorney Robert Harley.
Ms. Harris-Lewis is suing to recover money Lewis would have made had he lived past 27. Estimates of his potential earnings have ranged from $40 million to more than $100 million. Her attorneys contend Lewis could have continued playing by wearing a defibrillator or taking medication, or could have held other positions like broadcaster or product pitchman.
William Dailey Jr., Mudge's attorney, said in his opening statement that Lewis lied to doctors about his cocaine use until two weeks before he died, and the lack of full disclosure early in the treatment process made a proper diagnosis impossible.
