One son, Mitch, age 25, graduate of Williams College, and daughter-in-law Susan, graduate of Shorter College. They now live in Tallahassee, FL. Parents: Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Stripling, Camilla, GA One sister, Kathryn Stripling Byer, noted poet and author. Highest Degree: Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Florida State University, 1985 Administrative Experience: 25 years, including almost 11 years as a county school superintendent. EDUCATION, CAREER, AND AWARDS: 1964 - Honor Graduate, Mitchell County High School, Camilla, GA 1968 – Graduated with High Honors from Florida Presbyterian College (now Eckerd College), St. Petersburg, Fl., with a major in American History. Designated by the Woodrow Wilson Foundation as one of the top 1,000 college seniors applying to graduate school for 1968. Winner of 1984 Alumni Award for career achievement and service to the college. 1968 – Awarded fellowship for graduate study in Southern History at Johns Hopkins University. Had to withdraw in January, 1969, when graduate school deferments were ended by the Selective Service System.

She is the director of Summer Poetry in Idyllwild, a week-long celebration of poets and poetry held each July in the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California, and recently joined the faculty of the M.F.A. program in Creative Writing at New England College.
