Agatha Christie - Queen of crime
This page is dedicated to, in my humble opinion, the best mystery writer of all time. Here you can find a list of all her books, little something about some of the books, little something about the woman herself, and, of course, some related links that I've found. Hope you will find something interesting here. If you want to ask me some questions or give me some suggestions , feel free to do so. I'm really going to answer all the questions that I can and know, however sometimes I recieve questions which I wouldn't be able to answer if I was Agatha Christie herself. So if you don't get an answer for your question it means that I probably don't know it. Just don't ask me to do a book report for you, 'cause I don't have that much free time. Thank you for visiting my home page.

Discuss Agatha Christie More on the Greats Agatha Christie Nancy Drew Alfred Hitchcock Clue Chronicles Agatha Christie gatha Christie was born Agatha May Clarissa Miller in Devon, England in 1890, the youngest of three children in a conservative, well-to-do family. Taught at home by a governess and tutors, as a child Agatha never attended school. She became adept at creating games to keep herself occupied at a very young age. A shy child, unable to adequately express her feelings, she first turned to music as a means of expression and, later in life, to writing. In 1914, at the age of 24, she married Archie Christie, a World War I fighter pilot. While he was off at war, she worked as a nurse. It was while working in a hospital during the war that Christie first came up with the idea of writing a detective novel. Although it was completed in a year, it wasn't published until 1920, five years later. "The Mysterious Affair at Styles" gave the world the inimitable Hercule Poirot, a retired Belgian police officer who was to become one of the most enduring characters in all of fiction. With his waxed moustache and his "little grey cells," he was "meticulous, a tidy little man, always neat and orderly, with a slight flavour of absurdity about him." (The New Bedside...)

It is the perfect way for a wealthy British heiress of the 1930s to spend her honeymoon until she turns up dead, that is. Coincidentally (but not surprisingly) almost everyone on the steamer Karnak has a potential motive for killing Linnet Doyle (Lois Chiles Moonraker Broadcast News ). Fortunately, one of the passengers on the voyage is the inimitable Hercule Poirot, the idiosyncratic Belgian master sleuth. With a little help from his friend Colonel Race (David Niven The Guns of Navarone The Pink Panther Murder by Death ), Poirot sifts through the evidence, motives, and conflicting alibis in a race to finger the killer before the
