Edward Estlin Cummings is a well-known poet for how he wrote his poems. He wrote his poems in a very unusual way. He wrote poems with capital letters in the middle of words like the title of a poem called, "The little horse newlY". The "Y" is a capital letter. He also signed his poems with lower case letters in his name. Edward was born on October 14, 1894 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Edward's father was also named Edward. Young Edward's mother was named Rebecca. She loved to spend time with her children. She also taught Edward Jr. how to write poems. Edward's sister was born in 1896 and her name was Elizabeth. Edward's father was the first professor of Sociology at Harvard University. He later became the minister of one of Boston's most respected Unitarian Churches. He was the one who taught his son to use his hands as well as his mind. The way Edward Jr. used his hands was by painting abstract art. E.E Cummings was a very smart boy who had many interests. Edward was 12 when he became a freshman in high school. Edward tried abstract art before he wrote poetry. He loved circuses, ballets, operas, ragtime piano bars, amusement parks and symphonies. He also loved the company of young women. Edward graduated from Harvard in 1916. E. E. Cummings was in World War 1. He enlisted so that he would not be drafted and have to fight. In the military, he was sent to France where he drove an ambulance. He and his friend from Harvard were arrested because people thought they were German spies. They were kept in one room where they slept, ate, talked and tried to deal with their fears and boredom. E. E. Cummings wrote his first book, published in 1922, called "The Enormous Room", based on his war time experiences.

Burton Cummings
  • (b. 1947, Winnipeg, Manitoba) BIOGRAPHY Discography Links Photos Burton Cummings started his rock and roll career in Winnipeg as a teenager with The Devrons. When Bob Ashley and Chad Allan left the The Guess Who in 1966 Cummings was asked to join as keyboardist and vocalist. Wanting to shake their earlier 'British Invasion' sound, The Guess Who began experimenting with psychedelic and garage sounds filtered north from Minneapolis. They soon began recording there. Eventually, one of the their Minneapolis songs "His Girl" reached England which resulted in interest from Tony Hiller at Mills Music who negotiated a contract with King Records in the U.K. The song, a minor hit in Canada, was remixed and made the Top 20 in England. The band immediately cancelled 6 months worth of gigs and went to England for a tour. King had their course set out for them including where the money went, royalties and retainers and as a result were broke before they began. After one album the Guess Who walked out on King Records.

Burton Cummings Early Life Burton Cummings was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on December 31, 1947. His father left his mother when Burton was less then a year old. His mother took him to the movies when he was three or four years old. The first movie he saw that he could remember was Broken Arrow. Burton was raised by listening to the radio. He was blessed with an ear for music and could sing almost anything on the hit parade. Burton collected records and has records from 1908. He started buying records when he was 8 and paid for them by saving allowance and by delivering newspapers. Burton took his first piano lesson when he was four. He took lessons until he was sixteen. Christmas was Burton's favourite time of the year because all of his aunties, uncles, and cousins would come over to their house and they would sing. Burton, his mother, Rhoda ,and his uncle would take turns playing piano. When he was five or six Burton would grab a broom (pretending it was a guitar) and sing tunes for the neighbours. When Burton went to school, he was class president five years in a row. His best friend was Arnold Silver. Burton was also the class clown.

"Once I was reading a story to my daughter, and I was going nuts doing each of the voices. She finally rolled her eyes at me and said in this exasperated little voice, 'Dad, just read the story, okay?' " Jim Cummings ( from the Fall '94 issue of The Disney Magazine, I believe; I will verify this soon
Jim Cummings has been called "the voice of Disney" by many fans and professionals alike. He is one of the most ubiquitous voice artists in the business today. However, much of his work during the past few years has been in commerical voice-overs and movie trailer voice-overs. I won't be listing these for the simple reason I can't keep up with the work, but if he is the main actor for more than a couple commerials for one particular product, I may include some of those, but even that is a lot of work to keep up with.
"The voice of Disney" is a most appropriate title for Mr. Cummings. He did voice work for every Disney Afternoon series, and was a main character for each of those. In fact, the only Disney animated series for which he didn't provide voices was the short-lived Wuzzles . He did and does the voice of Winnie the Pooh since the series began, and since Paul Winchell's retirement, all but on a couple of occassions he has done the voice of Tigger, as well.

Model Of The Week AskMen.com Specials Ehrinn Cummings why we like her? She's young, gorgeous and a veritable powerhouse in the fashion industry. What more could we ask for? why is she famous? While you may have seen her in Sports Illustrated 's Swimsuit Issue in 2002, she has graced the pages of numerous other magazines from Vogue to Cosmopolitan , and was featured in a Gucci ad campaign. overall rating It's a wonder that Ehrinn hasn't ascended into the iconic stratosphere by now. It certainly isn't due to a lack of trying; in the last six years, she appeared in nearly every magazine imaginable including Jane and Vogue and has even posed for several ad campaigns for Ann Taylor, Gucci and Sisley, among others. So what gives? A large part of it may have to do with the fact that she doesn't have any distinctive features. That is, as pretty as she may be, she has an appearance that we've seen over and over on more accomplished models. So while she may be somewhat of a celebrity in fashion circles, she has a ways to go before being recognized in rural America.
