PREAMBLE

Stacy Doris’ Kildare (Roof, 1995) makes poetry from electronic entertainments. Her Mop Factory Incident (Women’s Studio Workshop, 1996), designed and fabricated by artist Melissa Smedley, is a multi-lingual play-poem-Mexican comic book on paper specially made from recycled Tijuana mop fibers. She is also the author of (P.O.L., 1998), a biography of the world’s most perfect man, written in French. She has co-edited two journal anthologies of recent French poetry: Violence of the White Page Tyuonyi 9/10) with Emmanuel Hocquard, and 21 New (to America) French Poets (1997, Raddle Moon 16) with Norma Cole. She has been a Teaching-Writing Fellow at the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and the recipient of a Fund for Poetry Award. She works as an adjunct lecturer at Hunter College and at City College in New York.
