    Directed by Ron Daum Lakewood Theatre Company will open its 48th season on Friday, September 8th, with the musical, The Grass Harp, a musical adaptation of Truman Capote's tender and lyric novella about a band of sweet misfits who defect from materialistic society and set up their own ideal civilization in a tree house. Directed by Ron Daum The Grass Harp, a musical with book and lyrics by Kenward Elmslie and music by Claibe Richardson, tells the story of an orphaned boy sent to live with his two eccentric spinster aunts who helped shape the lad's way of looking at and listening to the world. Featured performers include Sandra Willis, Debbie Domby, Jonathan Clark, Shirley Nanette, Don Burns, Russ Cowan and Lacey Ames
    About the Play:
    Spinster sisters Dolly ( Sandra Willis ) and Verena Talbo ( Debbie Domby ) live in a small town in the Deep South of 1930s Alabama. Dolly is a carefree spirit who makes a modest living selling a dropsy cure she acquired from some gypsies. Verena, the exact opposite of Dolly, is a controlling businesswoman who keeps her eye on the bottom line. Into their home comes Collin (

    Creator Aldan, Daisy, 1923- Title Daisy Aldan Papers Dates: Abstract: Daisy Aldan, perhaps best known for her poetry and editorial work, is also an accomplished translator and teacher. Her papers emphasize her editorial work, in particular her efforts for Folder Magazine (1953-59). Her own work is also represented by materials from The Destruction of Cathedrals and Seven: Seven as well as her translation of A Throw of the Dice Never Will Abolish Chance by Stephanie Mallarme.     Biographical Sketch
    Epoch, Cornell University's literary magazine, as one of America's fifty best poets. Aldan's earliest chapbook of poems was published in 1946. This was followed by The Destruction of Cathedrals and Other Poems Seven: Seven (Poems and Photographs) in 1965. During the 1970s, Aldan published seven books of experimental and lyrical poetry. Her non-fiction and prose works are focused on the topic of poetry and consciousness. In 1979 she was able to publish, due to an NEA grant, the novella
