An Interview with Valerie Hardin
Author of 'I'm With My Mom on Sunday' AUTHOR-NETWORK: Please tell us about yourself where you grew up, went to school, traveled, etc. VALERIE HARDIN: I went to school in both Utah and Long Island. It was funny I just happened to come a cross a school transcript a few days ago. I was such a different person when I was 11. They were trying to put me back into special education program. I was in special education for six months and it was a painful experience for me that I never planned to return too. I was a bright child but Dyslexic, and awkward. It took me a while to learn I wasn't that person on that piece of paper that there was more to me. I learned as I grew older that people wanted something different and the things that bruised me as a child became my gifts when I became an adult.

Welcome Valerie Hardin! ER-Valerie, thanks for agreeing to let me pick your brain! You're the author of a number of books, including poetry, children's stories, as well as non-fiction. Let's focus on the four books out right now. Three children's books and a gothic. I'M WITH MOTHER ON SUNDAY is from Saint Street Publications, OLD TURTLE, NEW MOON is from Crossroads, and TWO TURTLES is from Hard Shell Word Factory, correct? Then there's CRIMSON KISSES, the gothic, from Dead End Street. Going from children's books to gothic is an extreme jump in genre. Is there one that you prefer over the other? VH-Most people considered me a gothic poet first, but children's writing is a big part of my heart and I love it.

Alex and Lucy had to take turns being held up by their dad, Mr. Pickit.
Lucy wailed. "I'm missing the best part."
"It will be your turn next," Mr. Picket said. After a few minutes he put down Alex and picked up Lucy.
Lucy saw people with costumes on, she saw big floats and heard music coming out of all kinds of instruments.

This Dark Forest Fate does not lead us It is our choice To go to the part of The forest where the sun cannot penetrate The dense leaves of green That top massive trees In darkness We stumble We fall Into a pit Down Down Down Until we reach our own center of white bone Locked inside the darkness Inside ourselves Courting Darkness Mr. Darkness I really cannot stop In for cakes and rose hip tea No I don't want walk in the woods And take dead words like hymns into my heart I'm not going place my body on a alter So you can take my secrets out and Leave me a ghost in a moving shell of flesh Like the mirror image, the female side of you We Met Vampires We met vampires Who called themselves 'Our contemporaries' Yet would not speak to us For we were not an image We were real Standing in the dark while they were Drinking to their lives From tall champagne glasses Thinking themselves immortals But rotting under frosted masks and redden lips Being consumed by their own drunken self importance Draining everything they needed From us Chocolate Vampires Creamy brown chocolate Marshmallow insides In vampire form We can't help Biting hard and sucking up The sweet center Leaving the sweet flesh for last And that is how we must taste With our red jell core To something so dead Valerie Hardin

That dead men keep in dust filled cellars
Where rats scurry over mold
And apparitions can be see drinking
The poisoned fruit that makes living men
Decay before they even take that last breath
Or a second sip Valerie Hardin She Cursed at Me Trapped in a box
That they call her bed
Her one bone hand claws at the sheets
The other hand can't work
And she calls out screaming Trapped in a prison That they call her bed Trapped like a bug in a jar How she can breathe With such small holes in the lid? Your Name: * Dr Bob Rich the Dr is not because I am 'up myself' (excuse Australian idiom) but because when I first got onto the internet, I found Bob Rich-s and Robert Rich-s by the dozen. There was even one Dr Robert Rich, a New York physician, but no Dr Bob Rich. So I grabbed the territory. Name some of your books or ebooks or audio books? * No audio books yet, but 6 e-books with 2 more on the way: Do you have any unusual or wacky talents?

A woodsman and his dog came by. She told him what happened, but wouldn't go with him into his car. He had the dog stay with Litle Wolf.
“Red is his little girl," the dog said. “She pulls my ears, and hurts them."
Soon the woodsman came back with Grandma Wolf dressed in a human black dress and pointy shoes. They all agreed that Red had to be taught a lesson.
Grandma Wolf knocked on the door. Little Wolf stayed hidden outside with Dog.
“It's grandma," Grandma Wolf said.
Red looked through the peephole. “Grandma?" Red scratched her head. “You look strange. Your eyes are so big."
