Presented in association with Novels Novelizations Comics Guides ... Books by People Connected to B5 There is a pleasantly varied and growing assortment of Babylon 5 books available for consumption: from the 'sanctioned fanfic' of the first six Babylon 5 novels from Dell, to Kathryn M. Drennan's To Dream In the City of Sorrows , a one hundred percent cannonical part of the Babylon 5 story arc. Add a few manuals, some episode guides and novelizations, an RPG or two to round out the mixture and you have a literary buffet which can only be described as a Babylon 5 fan's dream come true. All this is without considering all the marvelous books on the periphery of Babylon 5, the inspirations of the creator, J. Michael Straczynski and the fabulous allusions threaded into the episodes which make the alert viewer start with a chuckle at the surprising syncronicity. Adventure, romance, and Celtic Legend can be found in Kennealy-Morrison's newest epic fantasy, a stand-along prequel to her bestselling Keltiad series. This is the eighth entry (following, most recently, Blackmantle, 1997), and returns to the origin of the entire sequence to tell the story of Brendan mac Fergus the shepherd. With the coming of Padraic, herald of Christianity in Ireland, Brendan realizes that the Old Ways are doomed and that Danaan magic will fade and disappear. So in the year 453 he leads a small band of Irish to build starships and head for new homes in space. tm

Patricia K. Morrison
"Born the heir of intergalactic royalty, I was abandoned by gypsies and raised by wolves. Well, no, I wasn't; I only act that way. For the record, I was born in New York City on 4 March 1946 at seven in the evening, which for the zodiacally inclined makes me Pisces, Virgo rising, Moon in Aries." So writes Patricia Kennealy Morrison in her 1992 Dutton memoir, Strange Days: My Life With and Without Jim Morrison . The author of the Keltiad fantasy series, Kennealy grew up on Long Island in a strict, traditional Irish Catholic family. She spent two years at Saint Bonaventure University, where she majored in journalism, became a practicing Celtic witch and, as the captain of the women's rifle team, learned to shoot M-1s and M-16s and very well, too. She graduated with a B.A. in English literature from Harpur College (now SUNY-Binghamton) in June 1967, having worked her way through senior year as a go-go dancer ("not topless!") in local roadhouses. After a few months as a harmless drudge of a lexicographer working on a dictionary at Macmillan, she landed "the best job in this world or any other": editorial assistant on a progressive rock music magazine called She began seriously to write her Keltiad novels in the early 80s ("though Jim was the first person to hear about them, back in 1970, when I first had the idea"), after a career in advertising that earned her two Cleo nominations. The first book of The Keltiad

Hi all,
For those of you who were interested in Patricia Kenneally Morrison when we were chatting with Chris last night, you might find who she would fantasy-cast in any theatrical version of the movie VERY VERY INTERESTING!!! I nearly choked.. too bad it'll never happen *sigh* For those of you who don't know how she is, you'll find it interesting any way and I would highly reccomend her works if you like Shakespeare and sci-fi and magnificently complicated language and three-d plotting and characterizations. It nearly drives my right brain to orgasmic tears to read her.
Okay.. okay.. toooo much information, but wait till you meet Dirk at D*C!!

. Wordful Fury . The Day the Earth Cried THE REAL DEAL One day while scanning the 'Net for Doors related web sites, I came across one listed as www.lizardqueen.com She plans on publishing these love letters, poems and songs in a book entitled " FIREHEART " - a name Jim gives himself in one of the poems she possesses. The book will also include drawings and sketches Jim himself created, but also includes artwork both Patricia and Jim had made together. The letters and poems are said to be his most passionate and erotic work. They are said to show a side of Jim only a privileged few knew existed. And what is even more revealing, written in Jim's own handwriting - he addresses Patricia as his WIFE. I couldn't believe this is the same person that was portrayed in the Oliver Stone[d] movie or the same person a few ranting Doors fans have called a "kook". Often I was told that Patricia was bitter and egotistical - but my experience with her was exactly the opposite! Here was Patricia Kennealy-Morrison, successful author - member of MENSA - High Priestess in the Pagan order - and wife of James Douglas Morrison talking to ME - a fan - on the phone from her New York apartment. She was nothing like I had expected. She was so much more. We then spoke of her flourishing career as an author and briefly touched on her religious beliefs. I sat there thinking, this is the womyn that the Jimitators despise? Why? Other than the obvious of course that she threatens their livelihood with a small thing called truth - I find it interesting that they exclude her without even trying to understand her point of view.

AL Interviews Patricia Kennealy Morrison (Patricia Kennealy met Jim Morrison in January 1969 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, the day after the Doors had appeared at Madison Square Garden. A tall, attractive redhead, Patricia was then the editor of , an influential rock trade magazine. In June 1970, Jim and Patricia were married in a Celtic handfasting ceremonyan event that Oliver Stone later depicted in his 1991 film, The Doors . After Jim's death, Patricia wrote a memoir, Strange Days ; she is also a noted science fiction writer whose latest novel, Blackmantle , was published to wide critical acclaim. AL: What did you think of the Oliver Stone movie which many people, ourselves included, admired. PM: You mean the world's biggest music video? Jim Morrison, the man I love, the man I married, is nowhere in that film. What you see is a grotesque, sodden, buffoonish caricature, who could never have written the immortal songs he is supposedly being immortalized for. But the worst sin Oliver Stone committed is that you don't care that Jim Morrison is dead at the end of the film. AL: What was Jim's attitude toward the Doors? Did it change over time?

A seeker. A teacher. A point man. More than anything else, Jim wanted people to see that what he was doing, they too could do; not the drugs and the booze, but the moving out, the breaking through, the seeing, the learning.
He never thought of himself as a leader, and he never claimed to have answers; only questions. He believed he was just someone who happened to be doing things a little differently, a little in advance of everyone else, or aside from them. It was that thing of wanting to lead from the ranks, to direct from off the set.
He tried more. He did more. He pushed harder, both you and himself. And he crashed in flames. But at least he tried. It's so easy for people to take cheap shots at him after the fact (or even when he was alive); not because he did badly what he set out to do, but because he tried to do something for which they had not given sanction and approval, something which they were unable to do themselves, and wouldn't have had the guts to try if their lives had depended upon it.
Well, Jim's life did depend on it; and I would ask people to remember that: to remember his pain, his suffering, the hidden springs of his actions and his art.

Jim Morrison
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Jim Morrison ), Singer Born James Douglas Morrison on December 8 he was the lead singer and lyricist of the popular American rock band The Doors . He was also a poet. Morrison dated Pamela Courson before his death, though they never married. He was handfasted in a pagan marriage rite to science fiction author Patricia Kennealy (who now calls herself Patricia Kennealy Morrison), but their marriage was never recognized by civil authorities. Born in Melbourne, Florida , Jim Morrison was son to a strict military officer (an admiral in the US Navy). (Morrison's relationship wis his father was strained at best; his Oedipal passage in The Doors' "The End" reportedly enraged his father, ending all communication between them.) Morrison became a seeker, interested in exploring new avenues and new sensations, and led a

http://www.watervalley.net/outrage/conreport/concat9/concat9.html
ConCat 9 took place over Thanksgiving weekend 1997 at the Radisson Summit Hill Hotel in Knoxville, Tennessee. As I've mentioned in previous reports, the originally scheduled guests of honor, George Alec Effinger and Barbara Hambly , were unable to attend due to George's health problems. Graciously stepping into the void was The Lizard Queen herself, Patricia Kennealy Morrison. It's a funny thing: I knew of Patricia Kennealy (which is how her name first appeared when she started publishing in the mid-80s) as a writer of the kind of fantasy I generally don't much care for. And being a Doors fan I knew of Patricia Kennealy the rock critic who was involved with Jim during the last years of his all-too-brief life. But there's a lot of psychic distance between the Doors and sf in my personal cognitive map and perhaps that's why I never once supposed they might be the same person. But they are uh, she is, and I discovered this weekend that while she is only one person, she's charming enough for two. Regular readers of my convention reporting know that I'm not much for programming, in general. I prefer to simply circulate. The cons on my personal circuit are small enough that the guests and panelists are easily accessible even to a !NF like myself. So I probably would have spent the hour of Patricia's panel in the consuite drinking whiskey and smoking

Out of my need as well as his, I do rituals, for the terrible truth, apparent to me as soon as I reach out for him, is that he is still here. His presence is so vivid, so tangible, that it seems impossible that I cannot touch him physically. It is a devastating feeling to know him so near, to sense him so lost; but even more devastating is the realization that I will have to send him on myself. . . . "And it is fine and fitting that I should do it, I have no complaints about that: I love him, he is my handfast mate, I am a priestess and I know how it should be done. And since no one else seems to have seen the necessity ("There was no service," one of them said airily to the press, "we just threw some flowers and dirt and said goodbye"; yeah, about what you'd do for your dead parakeet), it becomes my place and my place alone to do this for him. "For I see at last that if it did not occur to anyone else to do this for Jim, then no one else
