Ballantine Books Founded in 1952 by Ian and Betty Ballantine, Ballantine Books was the leading publisher of mature and literate science fiction.
According to C. Jerry Kutner , "Powers was the virtual art director of Ballantine's science fiction line, creating not only the cover illustrations (front, back, and occasionally wraparound), but the entire design of the books including positioning of the title and other text, selecting and coloring the typefaces, and sometimes even handpainting the lettering." A note about Ballantine Originals : Normally the term "1st Paperback edition" is used to denote a book that was originally published by another publisher in hardback. Many of the books in the Ballantine Originals series were never published in hardbackwe have identified these books below as "Paperback Originals". In the case where a book had a hardback printing, it was most often issued simultaneously with the paperback by Ballantine themselves. The hardbacks were issued in very small quantities, sometimes as few as two hundred, and were intended mainly for libraries. The hardbacks are understandably scarce and can command prices in the hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars. **Since this gallery was first posted, well over three-quarters of the books have sold. We are leaving the gallery up as a reference for collectors and fans.

"Wozu taugt Geld? Kann man in zwei Betten gleichzeitig schlafen? Kann man zehnmal am Tag Mittag essen? Also, wozu ist Geld gut?" - Cash Rules Everything Arounds Me".
