Review of Trigonometry Concepts
We have all heard that the earth is running out of room for all its new citizens, and how in every nation on earth the politicians have corrupted the economics to their own personal gain. And this is why the Society for New Age Future Understanding (SNAFU) was formed. At its most recent convention the delegates decided by acclaimation that SNAFU would seek to raise the undersea plateau on which once stood the proud land of Atlantis, and furthermore, that SNAFU would design and build there a utopian paradise called New Atlantis. In the interest of accomplishing something toward this end while the nasty problem of raising an undersea plateau was being pondered, SNAFU gave its architectural subcommittee the job of designing the capital city of New Atlantis. They determined that at the center of town would be a great monument to Descarte. The streets and avenues would form a square grid, ten streets and ten avenues to the kilometer. Main Street and Main Avenue would intersect at the monument. Then First Street North would pass 0.1 km north of the monument, Second Street North would pass 0.2 km north of the monument, and so on. Likewise First Street South would pass 0.1 km south of the monument, Second Street South would pass 0.2 km south of the monument, and so on. The avenues would be the same except that First Avenue East would pass 0.1 km east of the monument, and so on.

writer germany 25 Feb 1842, Hohenstein-Ermstthal, Sachsen - 30 Mar 1912, Radebeul (near Dresden)
Grave location: Radebeul: Friedhof Radebeul-Ost
Karl May was born in Hohenstein-Ermstthal as the fourth of fifteen children in a family of weavers. He worked as a school teacher, but his other activities even resulted in a prison sentence. After 1874 he became famous thanks to his adventurous tales of the Orient (Kara Ben Nemsi) and the Wild West (Winnetou, Old Shatterhand). Many of his readers considered his stories very realistic, but the press often wrote that his writings couldn't be further from the truth.
When he finally visited the USA himself in later years it was clear that the country was compeletely different from what he had imagined. May kept up appearances and wrote that his visit had brought him great new ideas for future stories.
In 1883 he moved to Dresden where he built his Villa Shatterhand in 1896. Here he lived for the rest of his life. He was buried at the Radebeul Cemetery.

Karl Marx
was born on May 5, 1818 in the city of Trier, Germany. Marx was a revolutionary who advocated "merciless criticism of everything existing" and was the co-originator of the theories of "Communism." In the autumn of 1843, Marx went to Paris in order to publish a radical journal. It was in Paris in September, 1844 where he first met life-long friend and associate Frederick Engels. Marx and Engels were both active in various revolutionary groups and together worked out the theory and tactics of "Revolutionary Proletarian Socialism" or "Communism." Marx was banished from Paris in 1845 as a dangerous revolutionary. He went to Brussels, Belgium. In the spring of 1847 Marx, along with Engels, joined a secret society called the "Communist League." At the league's request they authored the " Communist Manifesto," which outlines the theory of the class struggle, and of the revolutionary role of the proletariat. Due to his revolutionary activities, Marx was banished from Belgium in February 1848, finally ending up in London in 1849 where he lived until his death. In 1864 the "International Working Men's Association" was founded in London. Marx was a central figure in the new organization, and author of its first statement, and a host of resolutions, declarations and manifestos. His health was undermined by his strenuous work for "International." The first volume of "Das Kapital," Marx's most important work, appeared in 1867. Ultimately ill-health prevented him from completing two other volumes.

Press Articles by Marx and Engels
Jun 1848 - May 1849 Statement from the editorial board of Neue Rheinische Zeitung on the publication of the first issue, May 31, 1848 Originally the date of publication of the Neue Rheinische Zeitung was to be the first of July, and arrangements with correspondents, etc., were made with that date in view. But since the brazen attitude reassumed by the reactionaries foreshadows the enactment of German September Laws in the near future, we have decided to make use of every available day and to publish the paper as from June the first. Our readers will therefore have to bear with us if during the first days we cannot offer so wide a variety of news and reports as our widespread connections should enable us to do. In a few days we shall be able to satisfy all requirements in this respect too.
