    Economics 504, Part 1, Spring 2003 Princeton University Home New Topics Contact ... Students 504 Macroeconomic Theory II Economics 504 is the second semester of an integrated two-semester sequence in macroeconomics, required for first-year Ph.D. students in economics. It assumes that students have already taken the previous semester of this sequence, Economics 503. As with Economics 503, the requirements of the course include attendance at the lectures, completion of a series of problem sets, a midterm, and a final exam (for Part 1, a list of typos should also be submitted; see below). Part 1 is taught by Lars Svensson Part 2 will be taught by Chris Sims Announcements regarding Part 1 will be made on this page, and the page will be frequently updated.     Rules:
    • Reading groups meet approximately biweekly, usually on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Attendance by invitation only, regular attendance required 5 minute presentation: describe the setup of the additional paper you read to the group Email the title of this paper to svnieuwe@leland.stanford.edu one day before the meeting Every other week will will focus on two papers that center around a common theme. The main paper will be discussed in the reading group by one of the members who carefully studies the paper. Explanation of missing steps on the blackboard is appreciated. The main paper is in red below. The other paper is a useful complement to the main paper. You are strongly advised to read it. It is also subject to the five minute rule.
    We will have six sections, the seventh is optional. Only the papers that do not have url's will be copied. You can print out for free in Green Library, Lane Reading room.
