Try looking for the Port of Tampa. It's a world unto itself, tucked into the south of Hwy 60 on your way to Ybor, beginning with Channel side Drive and winding past the colorful Florida Aquarium and Cruise Terminals of Garrison Seaport. However, it's only a mere cosmetic tease into the actual percolating kingdom of commerce that generates $10.6 billion in wages for the community. The king of the hill, or the port, director Robert Steiner, keeps a discerning eye on it all. Although Steiner already held the position of deputy port director of administration and operations last year, he was made to ride out the storm of a national search for a successor to port director Joseph Valenti. In the end, he was chosen. With the trade winds of experience blowing at his back, the young Merchant Marine was taken to every port of call imaginable. Steiner now easily gives his input to the tenth largest port of the United States - Tampa. He spent 21 years with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and was vice president of operations at Atlantic Container Line, one of the largest container lines in North and South Atlantic Service. Before coming to Tampa he was with Newark Refrigerated Warehouse in New Jersey and itching to try something new.

Robert Hamerling (1830-1889)
The Austrian poet-philosopher was born March 24, 1830. He early showed ability in try, and although from poor parentage, the generosity of friends bled him to attend the gymnasium in Vienna, and afterward the University there. In the revolutionary movements which swept ope in 1848, Hamerling joined the student legion in the Vienna revolt. The collapse of the uprising in 1849 made it necessary for him hide for a long time in order to escape arrest. Later he studied natural science and philosophy. In 1855 he was appointed master at the gymnasium in Trieste. Many years of ill health caused him finally to retire on a government pension in 1866. In comparatively comfortable circumstances, Hamerling spent the remainder of his life in his home near Gratz, devoting himself to writing until his death on July 13, 1889. He is referred to as "one of the most remarkable poets of the Austrian school; his poems are full of life and color." His most popular work was Ahasver in Rom , Ahasver in Rome (1866), with Nero as principal character.

MORE ROBERT M. STEINER: FEDERAL DUCK STAMP PRINT ROBERT M. STEINER
If any single artist deserves the title, King of the Duck Stamps, it is Bob Steiner. So far, he has designed forty-five state duck stamps, including three first-of-state (1989 Rhode Island, 1990 Colorado, and 1991 New Mexico), and now, the 1998 Federal. Robert Marc Steiner was born in Philadelphia, on October 10, 1949, the only one of five boys to be artistically inclined. His father would have preferred that he follow a career in finance, but while still in high school he won an art scholarship to the school of his choice. He earned his degree from the Rhode Island School of Design and completed his masters degree at San Francisco State. Bob's family moved to Florida when he was just a youngster, and while in high school he became an accomplished surfer. He had two very close calls while surfing. Once, he "wiped out" on a coral reef but instead of being cut to ribbons, a swell carried his body over the coral to the safety of deeper water. The other, he was paddling on his surfboard when he realized that he was in the midst of a school of barracuda. He barely managed to get his hands clear of the water as the predatory fish swam under his surfboard.

Excerpt from Sitosterolemia
Synonyms, Key Words, and Related Terms: phytosterolemia, pseudohomozygous familial hypercholesterolemia
Please click here to view the full topic text: Sitosterolemia
Background: Sitosterolemia is a rare inherited plant sterol storage disease. Bhattacharyya and Connor first described this disease in 1974. The original report detailed 2 sisters who presented with extensive tendon xanthomas but normal plasma cholesterol levels. Subsequently, they were found to have significantly elevated plasma levels of plant sterols in the form of beta-sitosterol, campesterol, and stigmasterol. Sitosterolemia is characterized by tendon and tuberous xanthomas and by a strong propensity towards premature coronary atherosclerosis. Significant increases of plant sterols (phytosterols) are found in blood and various tissues. Arteries and xanthomas in patients with sitosterolemia contain increased amounts of these sterols, particularly sitosterol, stigmasterol, campesterol, and their 5-alpha derivatives. The disease causes a significant increase in morbidity and mortality for those affected. Coronary heart disease and its inherent health consequences are the primary causes of illness and premature death.

You save Our reference code: 3239 ISBN: 0273625896 Published by FT Prentice Hall 1st edition, published in 1997 224 pages, Pb [ Jacket Text ] [ Contents ] Jacket Text Domestic and international repo markets have grown dramatically over the last few years. This is because of an increasing need to be able to take and hedge short positions in the capital and derivatives markets; growing concern over counterparty credit risk; and the favorable capital adequacy treatment given to repos. Most important of all is the growing awareness among market participants of the flexibility of repos and wide range of markets and circumstances in which they can be of benefit.
Mastering Repo Markets is the most up-to-date practical primer in the professional markets, focusing on the instruments, applications and risk-management techniques essential for success in this rapidly growing, fast evolving market. A fully international, interactive book, it addresses market conditions, product characteristics, pricing and valuation calculations, trading strategies and risk management.
The only book covering these markets in this way, Mastering Repo Markets contains worked examples and exercises throughout, practice drills which reflect the style of the ACI exams, plus a complete practice examination paper.
