21. America. God Bless America? Holmes The Terrier Cocks His Head At Sept 11th.
Kurt Vonnegut quotes stopped me sleeping. Wanna know why Kurt Vonnegut quotesstopped me? Kurt Vonnegut is very funny. Read on for quotes.

God Bless America?*
Now then, on September 11th, we had a religious fanatic sort out two planes to fly into the World Trade Centre (not sure if it was necessary to build them that high, but there we are, they looked nice and impressive and important, didn't they?, and it certainly looked more exciting when they “unbuilt” themselves so rapidly ... bit like some Hollywood blockbuster, really ...) and in minutes, the Twin Towers had gone belly up, and I was suitably "stunned". On September 13th, we had a religious fanatic, one Jerry Falwell, a leader of America's religious right, wheel himself out (not literally, he wasn't in a wheelchair, you'll understand why) onto centre stage, for some words of wisdom. He reckoned that gays and lesbians, pro-choicers and the ACLU had all caused God to get more than a little upset and think: "Sod it, let the towers crumble in some religiously symbolic way ..." There really is nothing like a good dose of hypocrisy, is there, folks, and on September 13th 2001 (unlucky for some), we saw this fantastic example of it. We must all remember that God blesses America. Were the yanks to win at synchronised swimming at the Olympics, it would be because God was looking down on His nation favourably that day. You'd see them, receiving their gold, snivelling on the podium, thanking God. "Fuck trying to sort out the famines, you lot," He would say, “I'm gonna pour myself a ‘Bud’ (aaaaaaagh!!!!!!!!!!), kick back, and sort out a gold for that unfortunate who seems to be floundering in circles in the pool, like a parrot with a clipped wing" ... hmmm, God does indeed work in mysterious ways.

Biographical Sketch from Venus on the Half-Shell
Kilgore Trout was bom in 1907 of American parents on the British island of Bermuda. Trout attended grammar school there until his father's job with the Royal Ornithological Society terminated. The family moved to Dayton, Ohio, where Trout graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1924. Thereafter, he wandered around the country, workng at menial low-paying jobs and writing science-fiction in his spare time. His only known residences during, this period are Hyannis, Mass., Indianapolis, Ind., and Ilium and Cohoes, N.Y. He has been married and divorced three times and has one child, Leo, a veteran of Vietnam. As of 1974, Trout has written one hundred seventeen novels and two thousand short stories. Yet until recently he was little known. This regrettable situation is due to Trout's extreme reclusivity and his indifference to the publication of his stories. He was ill-advised in his choice of publishers, the chief one, World Classics Library, being a firm specializing pornographic novels and magazines. This ensured that his works would be distributed only to stores specializing in this genre. Yet Trout's work, with one exception,* contained no explicitly erotic content. Without Trout's permission or knowledge, World Classics Library put lurid covers on his novels and used his short stories as fillers in ''girlie'' magazines.

"...for human beings need all the relatives they can getas possible donors or receivers not necessarily of love, but of common decency." Slapstick Are you a Tool? Click here! Welcome. I'm Dusty Chromium-2 Jay Kelly , founder of the Kurt Vonnegut Artificial Family Utopia , and I'm very happy that you have found this webpage. To put it shortly: the problem with modern life is that people are too lonely. We are folk-society organisms and should live in large extended families with many close relatives. But industrialazion has made this ideal state impossible. We must follow the moneyaway from extended familiesinto isolated nuclear families. Kurt Vonnegut's remedy is large, artificially-extended families. Everyone gets a middle name and people with the same middle name are relatives. This means that everywhere you go, hopefully you'll have a number to call, an email to send, someone to talk toyou won't be alone. "Lonesome No More!"
