The Experience
While community input will ultimately be a key component in defining the programmatic nature of the new institution, preliminary conceptual designs reflect a synthesis of what has been successful in the best science and technology centers, natural history museums, aquariums, nature centers and themed entertainment attractions nationwide. The initial template of the exhibition program explores the hemisphere from a perspective of nature and the environment, people and civilization, and science and technology. With biodiversity, conservation and thoughtful environmental management as a theme, EcoLinks will include walk-through Everglades, coral reef and tropical rain forest experiences, featuring live birds, fish and reptiles in recreated habitats. Dinosaurium
For Museum visitors - young and old alike - dinosaurs have a genuine magnetism. Combining the best of all dinosaur experiences, the Dinosaurium will include a hall of mounted dinosaur skeletons, interactives and media exhibits and conclude with a theme park-like experience where visitors travel through a land inhabited by full-scale robotics. The Science Center of the Americas will examine ways to maximize on the new dinosaur discoveries in Latin America to create the most dynamic dinosaur destination possible. | |
