Until I began my research, no field studies had been carried out on the species. Due to the skin trade and habitat degradation its numbers have declined in places where they are not protected. As the prophetic Cube utters in sheer amazement, "Dey snakes out here dis BIG?" Basically, this film revolves around a giant computer-generated snake. I know, I know what you're saying. Snakes are animals, computers are machines. There is no such thing as a cyborg snake. Believe me, I know this too. However, the producers of this film found the best computer artists around in order to tackle the un-enviable job of making this snake come alive. It didn't hurt that the actors made it seem as though they were really afraid of this constrictor. You can read the fear in the eyes of Stoltz, Wuhrer, Wilson, and Lopez. You can hear Cube's voice quiver like a gelatinous dessert when he refers to the snake. And you can see the respect in the maddened eyes of Voight.
