We are also inconstant touch with WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals). Officials from this organization (WSPA) have visited us in Bodrum and have inspected our shelter/clinic, as a result of which we were informed to be the most succesful organization in the Aegean area. These officials also paid a visit to the then Mayor of Bodrum, Mr. Tugrul Acar, and expressed their appreciation at the support being accorded by the municipality to our association. WSPA has also donated various kinds of apparatus and equipment to be used at our shelter/clinic for which we are truly greatful. During the year 2000 Mr. Ian Winters from the Britain has visited us and neutered 35 animals, free of charge. Mr Winters had brought with himself all the necessary equipment and medications for these operations. On his departure he donated to us all that was not used.

American Animal Hospital Association
The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is an organization of 16,000 veterinary care providers who treat companion animals. AAHA is well known for its high standards for hospitals and pet health care. The American Animal Hospital Association is committed to continuing the search for more acceptable means to control the population of homeless animals. AAHA supports the NCPPSP's efforts of fighting pet overpopulation. American Humane Association
Since 1877, the American Humane Association (AHA) has been a national leader in identifying and preventing the causes of both child and animal abuse/neglect. AHA is the only humane organization that protects both children and animals.
AHA supports the council's research-based work. It is our hope that will lead us toward interventions that can have a positive impact on the pet and human populations we serve. American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was founded in 1866, "...To provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals..." The Society continues this mission through national education, advocacy and shelter outreach programs.
The ASPCA supports the NCPPSP because it provides empirical information and models for animal shelter staff, veterinarians and other professionals for the implementation and evaluation of programs to address pet population concerns.

AVMA Policy on Animal Welfare and Animal Rights
Animal welfare is a human responsibility that encompasses all aspects of animal well-being, from proper housing and nutrition to preventive care, treatment of disease, and when necessary, humane euthanasia. The AVMA's commitment to animal welfare is unsurpassed. However, animal welfare and animal rights are not the same. AVMA cannot endorse the philosophical views and personal values of animal rights advocates when they are incompatible with the responsible use of animals for human purposes, such as food and fiber, and for research conducted to benefit both humans and animals.
Guiding Principles
The AVMA encourages all veterinarians to offer their time and special expertise to aid in developing a better understanding of all aspects of the welfare of animals. Veterinarians are also encouraged to aid in developing guidelines and standards that may be necessary to assure proper stewardship of animals.
