  • Public methods of the RuntimeContext (as of version 0.3.0) coWiki provides a simple application programming interface (API) for your internal code to dock in: the RuntimeContext is the mother of your plugin code - it gives you milk and honey. Like any other coWiki objects, it inherits its methods from the super class Object and is the one and only way for your plugin to get information of any kind from the outside world. Because each plugin instance runs encapsulated in its own variable scope, it has no direct access to any runtime variables - which is good, so far :) Hence you will need an instance of the RuntimeContext (short "Context") to receive the data you require. The RuntimeContext contains all entry points for your plugin code. If you are going to extend a plugin or write one yourself and should miss any RuntimeContext API methods, please

IMS Version 7 and Java Application Programming
Abstract
This IBM Redbook is intended for customers who wish to exploit the Java language support provided by IMS Version 7.1. Its prime audience are IMS and Java application programmers, who can now use Java to develop IMS application transactions, and IMS system programmers, who support IMS applications development. This book will be helpful to any organization that would like to access IMS databases by using Java application programming.
As Java coding skills have become more readily available in the IT employment marketplace, application development with Java has become the de facto coding standard. This book assumes a certain level of knowledge of IMS, Java, and UNIX. It covers the base concepts of the Java environment, the S/390 software and hardware requirements which enable Java on the Enterprise platform, and how to download, install, and configure the Java related application development environment for your workstation, IMS/ESA, and OS/390.
We discuss two IMS applications that were developed within IBM, using the Java API to IMS. The Telephone Directory IVP application uses the Java Native DL/I interface, and the IMS Auto Dealership application employs the JDBC interface from Java to IMS. We also provide guidance on debugging, problem determination, and some of the development limitations you may encounter.

Servlet and JSP Programming with IBM WebSphere Studio and VisualAge for Java
Abstract
This IBM Redbook provides you with sufficient information to effectively use the WebSphere and VisualAge for Java environments to create, manage and deploy Web-based applications using methodologies centered around servlet, JavaServer Pages, and JavaBean architectures.
In Part 1 we describe the products used in our environment and provide instruction on product installation and configuration. Following this, we cover servlet and JSP programming, which provide you with both a theoretical and practical understanding of these components, together with working examples of the concepts described. For execution of the sample code, we provide information on configuring the WebSphere Application Server and deploying and running the sample Web applications in WebSphere. Using the knowledge developed in these chapters, we then provide detailed information on the development environments offered by VisualAge for Java and WebSphere Studio. These chapters assist you in using the features offered by these tools, such as integrated debugging, the WebSphere Test Environment, Studio Wizards, and publishing of Web site resources. We also describe how Rational's ClearCase product can be integrated with our environment for Software Configuration Management.

37. Open Sound System - Mixer Programming
Mixer programming. no mixer is present (it is always possible to open /dev/mixer0even be used when labeling or naming the mixer channels by application programs
http://www.opensound.com/pguide/mixer.html
Mixer programming
Introduction
Most sound cards have some kind of mixer which can be used for adjusting volumes. OSS API defines a device file ( /dev/mixer ) which can be used to access mixer functions of the card. It is possible that there are more than one mixers if there are several sound cards installed on the system. Actually mixer device files are numbered (/dev/mixer0, /dev/mixer1, ...) and /dev/mixer is just a symbolic link to one of these device files. Usually the link points to /dev/mixer0 but user has freedom to assign the link differently). NOTE!
It is possible that no mixers are present on the system. All sound cards simply don't have mixer functionality. This is common with oldest sound cards. However it is possible that some professional/high end sound cards don't have mixer. So don't assume that there is a mixer in every system. All systems have /dev/mixer0 but the ioctl calls will return ENXIO if no mixer is present. Your program should be prepared to handle ENXIO returned by any of the ioctl calls.

The mixer API of OSS is based on channels. A
