    90. KENATS
cheeses, etc. 3. To build a long term sustainable tradition of promotingArmenia's culture as part of the tourist attraction. Overview
    http://www.armeniainfo.am/kenats/pages/concept.html
concept events sponsors press releases ... contacts The Kenats Festival was inaugurated
    September 20, 21, and 22 of 2002
    and had the following
3 goals: 1. To promote Armenia's cultural traditions and hospitality
    2. To present Armenia's products: wines, cheeses, etc.
    3. To build a long term sustainable tradition of promoting Armenia's culture as part of the tourist attraction.
Overview: The first annual KENATS Festival, inaugurated September 2002 in Armenia's capital city of Yerevan, was born when a group of dedicated people working for the Armenian Tourism Development Agency (ATDA) and International Executive Service Corps (IESC), a program fully funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to promote tourism to Armenia, decided that the world was missing out on Armenia's wealth of cultural, agricultural, and historic treasures. In old Armenian, "kenats" means "to life". In modern Armenian "kenats" is a toast during which people wish one another good health, happiness and prosperity. The festival is the first of an annual national agro-cultural festival 'toasting' modern Armenia's Independence Day, her traditions of delicious, fun-filled hospitality, and ancient heritage. At this turning point in Armenian history, it is time to revive and celebrate unique Armenian traditions while bounding into the 21st century.
