25. Armenian Language
The armenian language Group, Single. This makes Armenian either quite a progressivelanguage, or, according the glottalic theory, one of the most archaic.
http://tied.narod.ru/tree/balk/armenian.html
The Armenian language Group Single Geography Nowadays it is spoken by the Armenian people in the Republic of Armenia and Turkey, and in Armenian settlements elsewhere in the Middle East, Europe and the United States. History Armenian is known to have replaced the earlier languages of the historical Armenian region by at least the 7th century B.C., and it may have been influenced by the languages it replaced. In 410 A.D., according to tradition, Armenian acquired an alphabet invented by St. Mesrob, a monk and scholar. A literature appeared by the 5th century, and the written language of that era, called Grabar or Classical Armenian, while incorporating various changes remained the literary language until the 19th century. Meanwhile, the spoken language developed independently; many dialects appeared, not all mutually intelligible. A nationalist movement in the 19th century led to the creation of two slightly different modern literary dialects which are closer to the spoken language: Eastern or Yerevan Armenian (the official language of the Armenian republic) and Western or Turkish Armenian. The differences in the two dialects are simple. The Armenian alphabet has 2 r -s, 3

Armenian language
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Armenian is an Indo-European language spoken in the Caucasus mountains (particularly in the Armenian Republic) and also used by the Armenian Diaspora . It is its own independent branch of the family of the Indo-European languages, with no close relatives. While it contains many Indo-European roots, its phonology (and possibly syntax ) has been influenced by neighboring Caucasian languages , so that it shares a three-way distinction between voiceless, voiced, and ejective stops and fricatives. It also contains many loanwords from Farsi Iranian ), which is another Indo-European language.

We have eight classes - Kindergarten and Grades 1 through 7. We have an outstanding staff of dedicated and experienced teachers, most of whom have been with our Armenian School 15 years and more. Several of our teachers have taken the one-week Armenian School Teacher Training Course which the Diocesan Language Lab offers every year (3 college credit course). There are colorful textbooks, workbooks, puzzle books, conversation books, funbooks, history books, children's stories on overhead projection transparencies, etc. There is such a wealth of state-of-the-art material available to our students which helps to motivate our pupils to want to learn our beautiful Armenian language as well as to be proud of their rich heritage. We are continually striving to make learning an enjoyable experience for our students. Realizing that for most of our students, exposure to the Armenian language is limited, our teachers emphasize conversation weekly with the use of flash cards. The children respond very positively to this method of learning conversational Armenian.

THE ARMENIAN LANGUAGE
The Armenian language is an independent member of the Indo-European language that belongs to the western branch of the European-Aryan family and traces its roots back to the time of Armeno-Phrygians, Hayes, and Urartians. There is also kinships with the ancient Hittites, Mitanni, Hurrian, and some Old Persian. Modern linguists claim that the Armenian language has retained its nationality from ancient times to the present, and that it possesses great vitality despite many persecutions Since the Armenians did not have their own alphabet, a native of the Province of Taron, Mesrop Mashtots , undertook the task to remedy the situation at the beginning of the fifth century A.D. With the religious Patriarch Sahag , the scholar Mesrob Mahtots developed a new alphabet containing 36 letters, which was used to write the Armenian language. In the language as then written were composed translations of the Bible and other pious works as well as original compositions by Bishop Eznik . This language is still preserved as the ritual language of the Armenian Church, and up to the 19
