Article 1 - Mission Statement The mission of the Asian American Baptist Caucus is to support and encourage the overall mission of the American Baptist Churches, USA by recognizing and articulating the needs and concerns of Asian Americans; advocating for the adequate representation of Asian Americans in denominational staff positions and in national and regional boards/commissions; and raising and developing competent Asian American leaders and pastors. Article 2 - Membership The membership of the Asian American Baptist Caucus shall consist of any active member of an American Baptist Church which ministers to Asian Americans or any active Asian American member of an American Baptist church. The churches of the Caucus shall consist of American Baptist churches which minister primarily to Asian Americans. Article 3 - Officers The following four officers, who shall Constitute the Executive Committee shall be elected at the Caucus Convocation for a term of two years. Any officer serving two consecutive terms shall be ineligible for re-election to that office for a period of one year. Care should be taken to ensure that the officers reflect the Caucus diversity in terms of racial/ethnic background, language, gender, age, clergy/laity, geography and other demographic factors that the Nominating Committee deems significant.
