    Asian American Studies Pathfinder
    Introduction
Asian American Studies is a multi-disciplinary field of study that examines the experience of Asians in America. Formally instituted at UC Berkeley and San Francisco State in 1969, Asian American Studies programs now can be found at major colleges and universities everywhere. Though Asian American Studies, also known as Asian Pacific American (APA) Studies, is an academic discipline, historically it has also embraced and supported creative endeavors and community activism. The following guide serves as an introduction to some of the many resources available to anyone interested in learning more about Asian American Studies.

Group to examine needs of Asian students
    CU TASK FORCE
By JESSICA KELTZ Journal Staff In response to concerns that its largest minority community may not be well-served, Cornell University has formed a task force to examine the needs of Asian and Asian-American students. Tanni Hall, associate dean for student support, said a collection of incidents alerted campus officials about two years ago that there might be a problem. A few groups of students reported verbal slurs, and administrators found that Asian students committed suicide at a higher rate.
