David West will find out on April 12 if he can add the 2002-03 John R. Wooden Award National Player of the Year to the National Player of the Year awards he has already won. The U. S. Aztec head women's soccer coach Chuck Clegg announced the signing of five student-athletes Thursday to national letters of intent. San Diego State head women's soccer coach, Chuck Clegg, announced the signing of five student-athletes Thursday to national letters of intent. Holly Huppert, Jessica Korpela, Amanda McKay, JoBette Nabarro and Taviana Shabestari will join the Aztec women's soccer team in the 2003 season. "We are excited about our incoming recruiting class," said Clegg. "They are all used to winning programs and will bring that winning attitude to San Diego State."

The 2002 OUA All Star and 2002 A-League Rookie of the year, Niki Budalic, has agreed to join Orebro SK of the Swedish First Division. The 24-year old Budalic burst on the A-League scene last year, recording 12 goals and 25 points to lead the Lynx and capture A-League Rookie of the Year honours. Head Coach, Peter Pinizzotto says, “Niki’s offense will be hard to replace”, but wishes him luck as he continues his career in Europe. McMaster Student-Athletes Honoured at Athletic Awards Dinner The 79th Annual McMaster Athletic Awards Banquet was held this evening at Liuna Station to recognize the achievements of all Marauder student-athletes in the 2002-2003 academic year. Click here to view all the award recipients.
Sterling OUA West Player of the Year
Kokkee Chen Named Badminton Most Valuable Player Kokke Chen from the Marauder Badminton team has been named the 2003 OUA Most Valuable Player. Chen, playing in the first position for the Marauders this year, was undefeated in singles and doubles play during the regular season. Chen was the catalyst for the Marauders return to the OUA playoffs this season after a multi-year drought. MAC went on to secure the OUA silver medal. In addition to Chen, Melissa Nock was also selected to the 2003 OUA Badminton All-Star team. Chen is a first year social science student from Hamilton and Nock is a third year engineering physics and management student from Oakville ON.

Men's Soccer Adds New Recruit to Fall Roster

MADISON, Wis. - Wisconsin men’s soccer head coach Jeff Rohrman announced Thursday that William Bagayoko, a midfielder and forward, has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Wisconsin and will join the Badgers’ fall 2003 roster. Bagayoko hails from Baton Rouge, La., and will graduate from Baton Rouge’s McKinley High School this spring.
