Latest News - 'Lost' Alumni
We very much regret that we have lost touch with some members of GSA Alumni.
We have listed the names of these former students, along with their subject and year of leaving, on these pages
We would like to ensure that they receive invitations to School events and copies of Flow, the magazine of The Glasgow School of Art. 'Lost' Alumni What do we do? Anyone who attends The Glasgow School of Art for three months or more automatically becomes a member of GSA Alumni. You will join over 5,000 former students and graduates of the School and, long after you have gone your separate ways, we can assist you in organising reunions and events - helping you to keep in touch with your fellow students across the world. The Glasgow School of Art prides itself on the success of its students and alumni and does not want those achievements to go unnoticed. We look forward to sharing in your news and accomplishments and hope that many of you will help us to provide careers advice, placements and mentoring to current students and assist with recruitment - at home and overseas. As former students you are the School's greatest advocates and can, in many ways, make a valuable contribution to your alma mater.

General Engineering Research Unit
The focus and strategy in general engineering is to conduct highly relevant, challenging research of a consistently high standard, which embraces many of the generic technologies identified by numerous governmental and industrial surveys. Integrating diverse activity within general engineering research has been central to the success of this strategy. This was provided in part by the establishment of the Centre of Manufacturing and Management (CAMM) - an excellent example of the strong and continuing support from research partners in industry. From the outset, CAMM was planned and developed in collaboration with industry. An industry led board, chaired by Professor Peter Wickens, current president of CAMM, and six director level industrialists from major north-east companies (Nissan, Tallent, Black and Decker, Thorn Lighting, Flymo and Walker Filtration) steers CAMM activities and promotes an holistic approach to manufacturing in which the mutual importance of technical, business and people issues are all recognised fas essential for the successful development of manufacturing industry. To help students strengthen their interior life, the school provides time insideand outside of class for nurturing habits of silence and reflection back to HS
http://www.chaminade.org/westhils/HS/Departm/AcademicGeneral/start.htm
The Chaminade Academic Program Courses of Study Graduation and College / University Requirements Community Service Requirements Grading Guidelines ... (pdf format, 350KB) Chaminade emphasizes the education of the whole person through a college preparatory curriculum.
Consistent with our Marianist charism , we carry out this mission of family spirit and educating for service, justice, and peace not only in the classroom, but equally in activities such as retreats, days of reconciliation, social service, meetings with parents of students and extracurricular formation programs. Through curricular programs, students learn to recognize and to name both justice and oppression through prayerfully seeking the will of God, the thoughtful analysis of social conditions, and through personal and communal witness. To help students strengthen their interior life, the school provides time inside and outside of class for nurturing habits of silence and reflection. A broad curriculum enables students to cultivate their personal talents and acquire the skills that will equip them to be life-long learners. Across the curriculum students learn to use their critical thinking skills and creativity to probe the meaning and consequences of data, facts, and events. taken from the 1998 Blue Ribbon Report to the U.S. Dept of Education

This could also be used for coming back from winter break and starting the new calendar year. To the right are downloadable versions of what the bulletin board looks like put together, and its central element. Schedule Slips Daily Display Colleen Gallagher Get ready for your back to school schedule display! These are strips for stubjects throughout your day. Download the slips (it may take awhile). Print these out on cardstock and then laminate. You can use them in a pocket chart or you could use glue a magnet on the back and place them on the white board. This will make your job easier every am. No need to write the schedule just add slips. The slips include graphics to support the words! We're heading into Grade!
