The following is a note from an Unqua parent who made sure the toys were distributed to the children, and without whom it wouldn't have happened: Dear Josephine and Karen, Just to let you know the toys collected from Unqua were successfully delivered to the St. Francis DeSales Outreach Center in Patchogue. As you are aware, this was our 14th annual toy drive and the 2nd year that Unqua contributed toys to help make it successful. This year we delivered a total of 9 family-sized trucks to the Center, making it the biggest yet! One SUV was filled with toys just from Unqua. The drive has gotten so large, Father Kevin was able to fill the requests of the Outreach Center and provide the Marines with the rest of the toys. The Parent Teacher Association is a community wide collection of parents, educators, and all persons in the Brittan Acres or San Carlos community. We welcome everyone including parents, educators, friends, or other family members. Ideally, every family in the school is a PTA member. Individual memberships for this school year are $6.00 / Family memberships (2 adults) are $12.00. Additional donations are also accepted. When does the PTA meet? The PTA meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month. All interested parents and educators are encouraged and invited to attend. The meetings are held in the teachers' lounge at Brittan Acres. The meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. What are the PTA fund raisers for? The PTA raises money each year to provide benefits and enhance programs that directly benefit our children.
