Artistic Approach
Lisa Snape Avery formed Avery Ballet in 1995. The goal of Avery Ballet is to give students the opportunity to study in a dedicated, professional atmosphere in the art of ballet. Alumni from the school are engaged in programs of higher education, enrolled in professional schools and are performing with dance companies throughout the U.S. and abroad. Avery Ballet takes pride in providing a disciplined, nurturing foundation from which to develop not only as an artist, but as an individual. Emphasis is on developing the dancer through pure technique, based on traditional classical ballet, which is the foundation of all dance forms. Musicality and artistic presentation are also developed. The dancer is encouraged to grow as an artist who is confident, well-rounded, and appreciative of the arts.
