    The process to be undertaken now includes:
    • The development and passing in Parliament of a new Telecommunications Act with regulations to follow soon thereafter;
      A transition period of 21 months, during which considerable work by the company, the Fair Trading Commission and the government needs to be undertaken.
    Mr. Miller had high praise for both negotiating teams that worked long hours to advance the process. He restated Cable & Wireless' commitment to competing in the Caribbean, and said that "the company stands ready to work with the Barbados government to ensure that this liberalisation process benefits customers, the company's employees and, indeed, all stakeholders". In his 2001 Budget, Prime Minister, Owen Arthur, announced a new timetable for liberalisation, with the first phase including competition in mobile networks and services, single line Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), multi-line CPE up to 30 ports (extensions), the resale of international minutes, and the use of VSATs for Call Centre operations.

    Documenting the Collapse of a Dying Planet Barbados Government 'Extremely Concerned' About Non-native Species Impacts on Local Biodiversity. Alien species - non-native plants and animals - are invading Barbados and the government says it is "extremely concerned" about the situation. The most recently and widely publicised alien species recently was the water lettuce which invaded a pond in Bayfield, St. Philip, choking it, killing fish and preventing migratory birds from resting and feeding. The incident provided a good example of the danger that alien species pose to local biodiversity. "Invasive alien species threaten ecosystems, habitats, or [local] species of [plants and animals]," said the Ministry of the Environment in a release to highlight International Biodiversity Day.

    National flag. CSW/C 2:3 - Different sources differ in the representation of the shape of the trident - possibly it is not entirely defined or it may have changed over the years. All sources seem to agree that the blue shade is lighter then the standard blue used in the UJ (and in the Governor General of Barbados flag) and yellow is in all representation dark, almost orange. [ ] designate the flag as CSW/CSW, but since BB has no navy and since (as it seems) the white ensign was introduced in the mean time ( Naval and Coast Guard Ensign ), the usage designation seems to be all right as shown in Album 2000.
