    The Bermuda Triangle is an area in the Atlantic Ocean where many ships and airplanes supposedly vanished. In this lesson, students will plot the locations where some of the ships and airplanes disappeared, analyze the distribution of those locations, and form their own conclusions about the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle.

    Personal Web Page Stanley Herwitz, Professor of Biogeography and Earth Science, received his Ph.D. in Biogeography and Geomorphology in 1983 from The Australian National University as a Fulbright-Hays Scholar. His areas of expertise include tropical rainforest hydrology and ecology, 3-D modeling of forest canopies, and subtropical biogeography. He is the Curator of the Hadwen Herbarium and Director of the Clark University Tower Hill Research Station overlooking the Wachusett Reservoir. In 1993, he was voted Clark University "Best Teacher of the Year". He is currently principal investigator of a NASA funded 3-year project ($3.76M), which is demonstrating the commercial potential of remotely-piloted solar powered aircraft. In 1997-2000, he was a science team member of NASA's ERAST (Environmental Research Aircraft and Sensor Technology) Program. Current Research
