Z DAHLERUS, BIRGER Swiss businessman and friend of Hermann Goering who flew to England (August 1939), in Goering's private plane to personally deliver copies of Hitler's proposals for a peaceful settlement of the Danzig problem to Lord Halifax. Dahlerus is also said to have passed along the date of Hitler's invasion of the Soviet Union, at Goering's request, in May/June 1942. DALUEGE, KURT (1897-1946) Commander-in-Chief of the Police of the German Reich and later Deputy Protector of Bohemia and Moravia. Daluege joined the NSDAP in 1922 and in March 1926 founded and led the first SA group in Berlin and North Germany, a position he held until 1928, when he transferred to the SS. For the next five years he was Commander of SS units in East Germany, organizing special shock battalions for surprise attacks on opponents. After Hitler came to power in 1933, he was given the special assignment of purging the police apparatus of Hitler's opponents, and was largely responsible for turning the police into an instrument of the Nazi regime. Promoted to SS General in 1934, he subsequently became the most powerful policeman in the SS, second in rank only to Himmler. After Heydrich's death, he became Deputy Protector of Bohemia and Moravia in 1942, and was said to have been responsible for the destruction of the village of Lidice. He was executed by the Czechs in October 1946. DARRE, RICHARD WALTHER

A B C D ... Z HAGEN, FATHER THEODORICH (18-) Mysterious Cistercian abbot who is said to have returned from the Middle-East and ordered swastikas carved on Lamabch Abby where Hitler later attended classes. Father Hagen was reputed to be an expert on the Cathars and several other medieval heresies including the Bogomils. HALDER, FRANZ (1884-1972) Colonel-General and Chief of the General Staff of the German army (OKH) from September 1, 1938 until fired by Hitler on September 24, 1942. He was arrested by the Gestapo on July 21, 1944, and held in concentration camps until released by the Allies in 1945. HAMMER, ARMAND (18 - 1990) The son of a Jewish immigrant from Russia who founded the American Communist Party. Hammer found fame many times in his life - and notoriety almost as often. He helped support the fledgling Soviet Union, yet went on to become known as one of the world's most successful capitalists. Hammer first found riches and notoriety as a businessman in the fledgling Soviet Union, where he used his operations to help launder money for the communist government. In 1922, Lenin wrote a secret letter to Stalin, designating Hammer as their official "path" to the resources of American capitalism. From his friendship with Lenin, to Occidental Oil, the Nobel Peace Prize, kickbacks to Nixon and sponsorship of Al Gore, Armand Hammer was one of the most mysterious and intriguing figures of the 20th century. Until his death in 1990, many "theorists" suspected him of being a major agent of world-wide conspiracy. (

iMUMBO JUMBO
"the days of miracle and wonder"
written, designed and directed by Brett Bailey
A startling work, heralding nothing less than a new and thoroughly appropriate form of theatre for this country... In the way of the finest cultural inspirations and articulations, iMUMBO JUMBO forcefully reminds us of the richness and versatility of reality.
(Darryl Accone, THE STAR) iMUMBO JUMBO is a dramatization of the true, intrepid, sacred and quixotic 1996 quest of Chief Nicholas Tilana Gcaleka (diviner, priest, liquor salesman, guru) to Britain to retrieve the skull of his ancestor, King Hintsa kaPhalo - Paramount Chief of the amaXhosa nation, killed by a colonial posse in 1836 - and thereby to restore peace to South Africa, which is being ravaged by Hintsa's angry Hell Spirit. Escorted from Heathrow Airport by Sky TV Chief Gcaleka travelled to Scotland where he eventually unearthed a skull in Inverness. Supported by amaXhosa royalty, South African forensics specialists subsequently claimed that the skull was that of a Caucasian female rather than a Xhosa king. The show takes the form of a funky, naïve African pantomime within a ceremony held by Chief Gcaleka to bring peace to the country; the pantomime, performed by a troupe of sharp, versatile performers, recounts Gcaleka's saga.
Chief Gcaleka's story unfolded before our astonished eyes with such spectacle, such fun, and such integrity, that we believed it was he himself who recounted his adventures. African evangelical Christianity rode easily side by side with the continent's indigenous religions… Every episode, every element, in iMUMBO JUMBO was unpredictable, idiosyncratic, and totally engrossing.
