We have several companion bird clubs in Maryland, some where discussions and activities cover all companion birds and others that focus on one particular type of bird. Each group generally meets once a month. Some of them hold annual bird shows (similar to a dog or cat show), while other groups hold special events each year, but not shows. Click on the links to learn more about each club. Here's an important site you'll want to visit

An Alliance of Bird Clubs A Brief History of Bird Clubs of America
Bird Clubs of America (BCA)
was founded in 1992 by Dick Ivy, who felt that America's bird clubs should work together to benefit aviculture. He believes that local clubs could comprise a national alliance which would elevate bird clubs to national notice and which would provide all clubs with direct information and services, while encouraging their individual participation in the many facets of national aviculture.
BCA's goal is to provide educational materials to clubs, formatted for use in club newsletters or as handouts at club activities or by breeders.
Consisting of 50 Alliance Clubs and 3 Alliance National Societies While BCA alliance clubs and individuals may donate financial support to help with the cost of supplies and mailings, there are no membership dues.
BCA provides alliance clubs with monthly mailings of:
  • Breeder Information Guides - BIGs Pet Information Pages - PIPs Species Support Pages - SSPS Club Member Guides - CMGs Avi-Reference Pages - ARPs Aviary Certification
Our BCA material is there to help editors, officers, libraries, and marts.
