Cooperation among Nordic Business Libraries: Past and Present Activities Kyllikki Ruokonen Inne håll - Contents Nordic countries have a long tradition of economic and political cooperation based partly on geography and history, common cultural heritage, similarity of economic conditions and partly language - excluding Finnish of course. Countries are also alike in population sizes, and the habit of free moving from country to country already before EC. The same facts have undoubtedly reflected on the library cooperation of the business school libraries: same type of customers, subject areas, services and collections. The oldest School of Economics Library in Nordic countries is Stockholm established in 1909. After that came in 1911 Helsinki and then Copenhagen 1922, Bergen 1936 and Århus 1939. A slow beginning After their establishment the libraries were evidently small and quite "self-sufficient" several decades, only few contacts with foreign countries were taken. Anyway the first reference to cooperation I have found in an article

orders, invoices, etc.) by modifying an already existing library of XML schemasto incorporate the best features of other existing XML business libraries.
http://www.ebpml.org/blang.htm
There are literally hundreds of commercial or not for profit organizations which develop XML schemas for business information exchange between business partners or enterprise systems. OAGIS - The Open Applications Group is a non-profit consortium focusing on best practices and processes based on XML content for eBusiness and Application Integration. It has over 6 years of extensive experience in building industry consensus for business software application interoperability and have developed a repeatable process for quickly developing high quality business content and XML representations of that content. RosettaNet - Non-profit organization, RosettaNet is a consortium of major Information Technology, Electronic Components and Semiconductor Manufacturing companies working to create and implement industry-wide, open e-business process standards. These standards form a common e-business language, aligning processes between supply chain partners on a global basis. xCBL - xCBL is a set of XML business documents and their components, distributed freely. In addition to using the business documents, you can also use the component library to build your own documents. Either way, using xCBL promotes interoperability between applications. UBL - This is a work in progress, connected to the ebXML Core Components. "The purpose of the UBL [working group] is to develop a standard library of XML business documents (purchase orders, invoices, etc.) by modifying an already existing library of XML schemas to incorporate the best features of other existing XML business libraries. UBL is intended to become an international standard for electronic commerce freely available to everyone without licensing or other fees".

Welcome to the HP Python Business Libraries project on SourceForge!
This project contains libraries originally developed by the E-speak Solutions Team at Hewlett Packard Company. The E-speak Solutions Team is part of the E-speak Operation and is responsible for developing, among other cool things, the E-speak Electronic Brokering technology. We created these libraries in the process of developing several large scale Internet applications. We feel that these modules enhance the Python language to make it easier for programmers to build web applications in the area of E-Services. We released these libraries to the Open Source community in order to help mitigate the ongoing overhead of maintaining them by development teams iside of HP. With more than 100,000 libraries throughout North America, these institutions continue to thrive despite the increasing convergence of computer and communications technologies. U.S. libraries have expanded even while facing severe funding cutbacks. Still, libraries of all sizes are able to provide cultural, factual, educational and recreational information on virtually any topic through resources such as books, journals, microforms and other multimedia applications. They can also be categorized according to specialty. For example, public libraries service the general public, while school libraries support student research and classroom instruction. Other types include corporate, legal, media, medical and religious libraries. Below are links to business libraries and archives.
