Overview of Legislative and Government Protection
Under valid Ukrainian legislation a wide range of objects are subject to State registration and protection: architectural monuments and monuments to the art of engineering, along with natural and human-made elements, monumental works of sculpture and painting, archaeological objects, caves with evident traces of the presence of man, buildings or rooms in which authentic evidence of significant historical events or the lives and activities of important people is preserved. Issues of the protection of objects of cultural heritage have been designated as priorities. These cover a whole range of measures associated with the protection and preservation of the traditional character of the environment of historically inhabited places and environments in the Ukraine, which has acceded to the Convention on the Preservation of World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
At present in the Ukraine there are official records for more than 140,000 objects of cultural heritage and 132,000 historical and archaeological monuments and items of monumental art, of which approximately 500 are of national importance. There are 15,600 urban and architectural monuments, of which more than 3000 are monuments of national importance.
We will also discuss architectural and urban monuments. Along with the Kiev monastery complex - Kiev-Pechersk Lavra - and the historical centre of Lviv, the Saint Sofia Cathedral was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. At present, preparations are being made to include the historical areas of certain towns, such as Kamyanets-Podilsky, Odessa, Chernigiv, Uman and others on the aforementioned list.

BACK THE BEAUTY OF KAOHSIUNG
The LIU-HO Night Market
Since 1949,there had already been sprinkling pitches gathered here in the Liu-Ho 2nd Road. The government of Kaohsiung City established a temporary concentration area for pitches in 1962. And further in 1987, the government began practicing "pedestrian walk" (which all vehicles are banned from entering) during the business hour from 18:00 to midnight. Today, the Liu-Ho Night Market has become a very famous sight in the Kaohsiung city. It's not only a good place for citizens' daily diet, but a great gourmet paradise for people from all the island, even from other countries, to enjoy the civic life pleasure. The Liu-Ho Night Market, located in the center of downtown, about 10 minutes walk to the Kaohsiung Railway Station, with 138 pitches opening all night long, is the most significant and fascinating sight in the Kaohsiung metropolis for over 50 years.
The Old Castle of Fengshan Hsien (Chiucheng)
  • After Chu I-kwei Incident in the early Ching Dynasty, Liu Kuang-shy, the Magistrate of Fengshan, built a clay Castle wall in 1722, whose circumference was 2,454 meters, and the height was 4 meters. The wall had four gates, each at east, west, south and north side. It was the formal scope of Fengshan Hsien Castle, and was the first clay castle built in Taiwan. In 1786, the castle was destroyed during Lin Swang-wen Uprising in which many officials and soldiers were killed. Since inside of the castle could be clearly observed from nearby Panping (half screen) Mountain and Snake Mountain was not easy for defense, relocation of Hsien capital was planned and a bamboo castle was erected at Pitou Chie (presently Fengshan City).

Research Resources in Hungary Museums, collections, archives, databases, universities Hungary's main museums all have rich medieval holdings, and there are a number of specialized collections as well. Most of these are public institutions, which means that you can generally do research in their archives and even see items not exhibited after some advance correspondence. Major libraries, archives and photo collections are similarly accessible, but permission is often needed to see special items, or if you want to use smaller collections. To do research on the art of medieval Hungary, you also have to use the museums and collections in the neighboring countries. Slovakia and Transylvania in Romania, as parts of the former Hungarian kingdom, are particularly rich in medieval monuments. Information on this page is arranged in the following categories: Bibliographies and research guides Libraries and archives Major museums History and maps of historical Hungary ... Then when I was a bit older, during the summer school breaks I used to hitch hike around the country and went to see the castle on several occasions. Then after nineteen years of absence I have seen the castle again. One can't imagine how huge this structure is, as this is the largest Royal Gothic castle in Central Europe. Its site has been inhabited since the 5th millennium BC. Large part of the castle has been renovated and turned into a museum and the restoration continues. Spiš ranks among the most remarkable Slovak regions. It covers the north-western part of the Eastern Slovakia Region. It abounds not only in Nature's beauties but also in the preserved medieval art-historical monuments, mostly from the Gothic period, that occupy an important place in European context. Nearly in all the villages and small towns we can find a worthy sacral or secular architecture, precious winged altars, interesting objects of arts and crafts or valuable frescos. Since the 12th century the country is dominated by the Spiš Castle, once the seat of the high-ranking Hungarian aristocratic families and custodians, the castle has been a symbol of the Spiš Region.

    Abstract
This document describes the system architecture of the RS/6000 Enterprise Server Model S80. Special attention in this edition is given to the newly developed copper technology RS64 III processor. The major components; processors, memory, I/O subsystem, and the interconnecting buses are all described. Most of the components used are new designs and contribute to the continued outstanding balanced performance, reliability, and scalability of the "S" family of RS/6000 systems. Introduction
The IBM RS/6000 S family consists of the new S80 and the earlier S70 and S70 Advanced Systems. The S family is IBM's RS/6000 symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) server family for high-end commercial performance. In addition, it is ideally poised for the future in that it supports both 32-bit and 64-bit applications running concurrently. It uses the new copper technology enhanced PowerPC RS64 III processor and is offered in 6-, 12-, 18-, and 24-way configurations. The S80 also includes a greatly enhanced set of central electronic complex (CEC) support logic. More specifically, the memory controller complex was dramatically updated. The S family was the first RS/6000 system to exploit the true 64-bit large memory addressing capabilities of AIX 4.3. The S family also has a rich set of reliability features.

The house is private owned and visits are not normally accepted, except for exteriors. Designed by Antoni Gaudí i Cornet and built between 1900 and 1902.
The house Bellesguard also known as Casa Figueras is located in the high area of Barcelona, near Collserola mountain, at the same place where an old castle built by the last king of Catalan dynasty Marti l'Huma was to be found. That castle had been used by that king as his summer residence from 1410.
That fact was for Gaudí a base of inspiration, and consequently he also used some elements of that old castle to built the new Bellesguard (as walls, courtyard, etc.).
That is the reason why the house has the external appearance of a castle, including the embattlements.
The building constructed in stone and brick has mainly a vertical projection helped by a Gaudí characteristic tower culminated by a four branches cross.
