    Press Releases Version 6.0
Advanced Chemistry Development Provides an Analytical Informatics Solution for Effective Knowledge Management with the Release of Version 6.0
Toronto, Canada, March 18, 2002 - With the release of version 6.0, Advanced Chemistry Development (ACD) defines an " Analytical Informatics " solution that provides enterprises with the computational tools and information systems necessary to understand analytical data, increase laboratory throughput, and disseminate results effectively. Version 6.0 of ACD software enables the enterprise to combine tools for the casual user with complete solutions for enterprise communication to achieve effective knowledge management at every level within the organization. ACD provides solutions to integrate information. While each piece of ACD/Labs software stands on its own as an advantageous tool, they have been specifically designed so that when taken together, a comprehensive analytical data management system with dramatic feed-forward effects on the chemical research process is created. ACD/SpecManager SQL is the "umbrella program" used by enterprises to access, process, organize, and manage all types of experimental data through a single interface. The Oracle client-server architecture enables several users to work with the same database at once, ensuring the seamless integration of analytical data and results from all areas within the enterprise.

Advanced Chemistry Development Announces Agreement with Fujitsu Limited to Expand Distribution in Japan Chiba, Japan, and Toronto, Canada, March 12, 2002 -
Fujitsu Limited (Fujitsu) and Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc. (ACD) announce their agreement, which establishes Fujitsu as the master distributor of ACD software in Japan. Fujitsu will, under the new agreement, distribute ACD's entire portfolio of software solutions to the chemistry-based research industry throughout Japan. "This joint initiative with Fujitsu expands ACD's marketing reach in Japan significantly, and enhances our customer support capabilities in this important market," said Ian Dugdale, Director of Sales for ACD. Based on data from the Mitsubishi Research Institute on the biotechnology sector, the pharmaceutical and chemicals markets in Japan were valued at $3 billion US and $2 billion US respectively in 1999. Overall, the biotechnology sector in Japan was estimated to be growing at an annual rate of 24%. The agreement with Fujitsu presents ACD with a tremendous opportunity to place a new focus on the Japanese market, and to increase their market share within a rapidly growing industry. "In the past year, ACD has been recognized as one of North America's fastest growing technology companies because of the positive impact our software brings to scientists. Now, with expanded presence in Japan, we will be able to bring this benefit to new users in the years to come," said Tony Williams, Ph.D., VP of Scientific Development and Marketing at ACD.
