Early Childhood Education
Early childhood education is the term used in the United States to describe the educational development of infants and young children prior to starting regular school and through the first year or two of school. It is considered a critical stage of growth and development, with significant national resources being increasingly devoted to this educational level. Early childhood educators are considered specialists who are specially trained and certified, and the field has also emerged as a separate research area. The facilities that provide early childhood education include public and private kindergartens, elementary schools, day care centers, child care services (including home services), and charitable organizations such as religious congregations.

Alligators are very interesting reptiles. They lay about 60 eggs, and only 1 or 2 live to be a adult. They can pretend they are a log so they can catch their prey. If an alligator chases you, you should zig zag because they can't turn very well. That is why I think they are such interesting reptiles.

For young learners, technology is part of their everyday lives. Computers and other technology are tools to use when appropriate and effective. Their use in the classroom can range from short and simple lessons to being an integral part of long-term projects . Including technology as a part of classroom activities can be motivating, and allows students to learn, communicate, and share their knowledge and understanding in a wide variety of ways.
Children receive the greatest benefits from technology when these elements are present:
  • The lesson or project is directly connected to the curriculum The technology allows for active learning, with students making decisions

Getting Started
A connection to the Internet and a willingness to learn are the foundation for integrating the Internet into an ECE classroom; however, a few other resources will help. Students must receive training in how to use the Internet. Texts by Kovacs ( ) and Jaffe ( ) can help teacher educators design appropriate training sessions. A guide published by ERIC/EECE ( ) provides specific information about using the Internet and describes Internet resources of interest to adults working with young children. Teacher educators can also use materials made available via the Internet by other Internet trainers, such as can be found in the searchable index at Yahoo!

http://www.abacuskids.com/philosophy.htm
Your child will be cared for within an atmosphere of love and acceptance. We strive to help children feel good about themselves and their relationship to other children and adults. Teachers in each room work together to provide experiences children need to grow emotionally, physically, socially, academically, and intellectually.
Learning is a nurturing experience. Positive, supportive, individualized relationships develop between the children and the teachers on a daily basis. Teachers interact with the children extensively to facilitate children's sharing of experiences, ideas, and feelings. Communication is friendly, positive, and courteous.
Our emphasis is on the experience each child gains while doing, rather than how expertly it is done. The teachers post weekly lesson plans, information about special events, and projects that the children have participated in and learned throughout the day. Early Childhood Building (ECB) This ECB serves as the home of the Early Childhood Education degree program and the Early Childhood Development Center , the campus day care facility. Early Childhood Education majors gain valuable experience work with and teaching the children enrolled in the Children's Center. The facility was meticulously planned to serve as a model center for child development. Four separate classroom areas are geared toward the care, education, and development of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school age children. Observation, seminar, and resource rooms provide areas for students to prepare lesson plans and to analyze interactions. All rooms feature access ports to the campus local area network and the Internet.
