About This Music Search
When you know a melody and you do not know its title or composer, this melody search engine will help you. The search engine retrieves the title and the composer of the melody you entered. The database includes more than 1500 classical music melodies. It covers most of famous classical melodies. The database is frequently updated.
Before You Use
  • Your browser is required to handle a Java applet. If not, activate Java capability.
  • Your computer needs a soundcard to decode a sound (.au) file. Also, MIDI playback capability is required to listen to the retrieved MIDI file.
  • Some melodies in the database are not exactly the same as the original. They are simplified for easy and fast search. To listen to the original music, go to Internet MIDI archives, for example, http://www.prs.net/midi.html
  • I am doing my best to build the correct database, but some incorrect data might exist. I never guarantee the correctness of the search result. I do not compensate for any loss the wrong result causes.
  • I believe this program causes no trouble to your computer, but I do not take any responsibility even if your computer gets some damage.

A Chamber Chorus
CantaLyrica,
A Chamber Chorus
Based in Bergen County, CantaLyrica is a chamber chorus dedicated to performing great classical music, with an emphasis on discovering and performing the lesser known repertoire for women’s voices. Known for its rich signature sound, CantaLyrica’s mission (see below) is to bring these masterpieces to audiences who enjoy beautiful music, lovingly performed. Under the direction of Joshua Greene , its singers aspire to the highest standards of artistic interpretation and performance.
In addition to three major concert events each year, CantaLyrica sponsors sight singing classes (taught by Assistant Conductor Lynn Morneweck-Fuld ) during the late spring and summer. These classes are open to anyone (high school age or older) who wishes to improve his or her music reading and musicianship.
CantaLyrica’s Mission Statement:
“To perform music beautifully for the enjoyment of both the musicians and the audience, while honoring the composer’s intent and communicating the meaning of the text.”
CantaLyrica's most recent concert was:

Plymouth Classical Music calendar plymouth concerts Plymouth Classical Music Concert Diary for Plymouth and area, Devon, UK
The aim of this site is to provide a focal point for information about orchestral, chamber, instrumental, choral and similar concerts and recitals in the Plymouth area, and to enable concertgoers to plan their diaries some time in advance. A separate page contains each month's events, linked from the blue contents frame. This local concert listings site tries to provide comprehensive listings for the area, unlike the commercial "directory based" sites which do not proactively establish contacts and search for concert information, both online and in person. Invaluable co-operation from local organisations such as Plymouth Music Accord and the Plymouth Chamber Music Trust has greatly aided this process. To contact the website editor, e-mail Roger at ply.classical@ic24.net Local orchestras and choirs featured in the Plymouth Classical Music Concert Diary include the South West Sinfonietta, Ten Tors Orchestra, Plymouth Symphony Orchestra, Plymouth Philharmonic Choir and the University of Plymouth Choral Society. However orchestras and ensembles from all over the UK and elsewhere are often featured, such as the Endellion String Quartet, The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble, Quatuor Danel, the Belcea String Quartet and many more.

This page is the index to my hyper-media report on the traditional classical music of Persia (Iran). Of the many ancient societies that have shaped the history of human civilization, Persia has been one of the few which has persistently maintained its identity, and individuality through the ages; this is reflected in its classical music. The purpose of this site is to allow the casual observer an opportunity to explore the musical tradition of this ancient civilization. You will need a WAV player to hear the sound clips in this report. Click here if you need to download a player. Below is an outline of the ideas presented in this report. To view any topic in greater detail, simply click on it.
    Characteristics:
The following characteristics are shared between Iranian and other Central Asian music:
    • The music is mainly monophonic, with each instrument in an ensemble following one melodic scheme.
    • The music is based upon a modal system; with each mode engenderring different melodic types, called
