WELCOME
Dear Friends,
This site was established to provide you with unlimited access to all aspects of my campaign for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives.
When I entered Congress in 1989, I knew I was about to embark upon a humbling experience. Little did I know that fourteen years later I would be continuing to do the job that I enjoy so much – advocating for the people of Upstate New York while having a significant influence in developing and shaping issues of national concern as a member of the prestigious House Appropriations Committee.
I look forward to serving you and your family in the 108th Congress come January as the representative from New York’s new 25th Congressional District. Thank you for your interest and support.

This website contains the on-line versions of books previously published in hard copy by the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress under the Country Studies/Area Handbook Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Army. Because the original intent of the Series' sponsor was to focus primarily on lesser known areas of the world or regions in which U.S. forces might be deployed, the series is not all-inclusive. At present, 102 countries and regions are covered. Notable omissions include Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and other Western nations, as well as a number of African nations. The date of information for each country appears on the title page of each country and at the end of each section of text. Search

About the Country Studies/Area Handbooks Program
The Country Studies Series presents a description and analysis of the historical setting and the social, economic, political, and national security systems and institutions of countries throughout the world and examines the interrelationships of those systems and the ways they are shaped by cultural factors.

Welcome to my web site! I'm Fred Foldvary, the Libertarian Party candidate for U.S. Representative in Congress for the District in California , covering the East Bay (Berkeley and Oakland areas). I currently serve as a professor of economics Santa Clara University, John F. Kennedy University, and California State University, Hayward. I'm running for Congress to provide you an alternative to Democrats and Republicans, who merely represent two different versions of the status quo. In short, I believe that, as an individual, you have the right to live your life in whatever manner you choose, so long as you do not infringe upon the equal right of others to live their lives as they choose. At this web site you will find information about me, my campaign, and what you can do to help me represent you in Congress. If you like what you see here, I hope you will assist me in my efforts to defend our civil liberties, and free our economy from the clutches of State-granted privileges and monopolies. Send questions or comments to: foldvary@pobox.com

Getting to know Jim Pierce. The people's choice A Call To Freedom "Let me ask you a question - for this is the premise of my campaign- Would you give up your favorite government subsidey if you never had to pay another penny in property tax, federal income tax, and social security tax?"
Hi, I'm Jim Pierce, and I'm running to be your Congressman because I know America needs strong leaders who will stand up for conservative, Christian values. Like you, I believe that our country is suffering moral, social, economic, and political decline - and the results are all around us. For too long, the welfare state has rewarded immorality and laziness, government schools have fed our children education that is intellectually destructive and morally debased, and federal regulations have choked the life out of small business owners.
