Eastern Connecticut Libraries (ECL) is a private, non-profit, Cooperating Library Service Unit (CLSU) serving libraries in New London, Tolland, and Windham Counties. This area covers 49 towns, approximately 1604 square miles, and has a population of over 486,000. The largest towns in the area are Groton, Norwich, Vernon and New London, three of which are in the southern area. The Friends of Connecticut Libraries (FOCL) is a non-profit organization consisting of local Friends groups, organizations and individual members who believe that libraries are an essential resource for the citizens of our State.
Founded in 1979, FOCL now includes over 100 local Friends groups, organizations such as the Connecticut Library Association and the Association of Connecticut Library Boards , various book sellers and many individual members.
The Friends of Connecticut Libraries is pleased to celebrate 20 years of service to the State, the Community, and the Individual.
