located at Child Inc., is a network of agencies and parent groups organized to promote parental involvement in education through activities and resources funded through a U.S. Department of Education Goals 2000 grant.
Our Mission
We all want our children to do well in school.
Train, assist, and empower parents to become
effective advocates for their children. Assist parents in their role as the primary teachers of
their children. Enhance training of school personnel to work and
communicate effectively with parents. Promote greater involvement of parents in policy-
making, advisement, and planning. Publicize existing parent education resources and
establish networks of service providers.

    Family Support and Parent Education Services The Family Support and Parent Education Program is dedicated to providing a wide range of prevention services that focus on enhancing parenting skills and offering support to families. Major issues addressed include violence in families, infant mortality, family self-sufficiency, the effects of separation and divorce on children and families effected by addiction. This is accomplished through a wide range of services including parenting and support classes and workshops, home visiting and case management and a confidential telephone line.
