The range from quiet and laid back to more agressive and pushy for their attention, but all are very people oriented, handled a lot and friendly. I enjoy seeing my donkeys go to good loving homes where they will be well cared for and enjoyed. Donkeys are friendly, loving animals and are fun to have around. Anyone who has pet restrictions, such as in dorms or with landlords, or who has to work long hours and can't justify keeping a dog or cat, may be interested in these cute rodents. Guinea pigs are members of the rodent family, and they're from Central and South America. The name "guinea" comes from the price people paid for them when they were introduced in Britain long ago. These are friendly animals that rarely bite and will "talk" to their people. Guinea pigs have a loud, sort of whistling call that often greets the person who feeds them and a rumbling purr as well. They don't have the hairless tails that bother so many people about rats (though rats actually make excellent pets as well). They come in a wide variety of colors and have various hair types. The "standard" guinea pig has flat, smooth hair, but there are guinea pigs with wild cow licks and some with long, straight hair that requires frequent grooming. There are even shows for them, many sponsored by the American Rabbit Breeders Association. Guinea pigs have minimal care requirements. They need a large, safe cage.
