She did graduate work in Belgium at the University of Louvain and at Harvard University from which she received an M.A. in Italian Literature. She has taught at Wellesley College and at Harvard University as a teaching fellow. Her main research interest is in language pedagogy and the use of computer technology in teaching foreign languages. She recently developed an Italian language course centered on the history and cultural importance of food in Italy.
