2001 Lenten Drama Series As preparation for Holy Week, we want to hear from several individuals who were powerfully affected by those events. Their reactions had a lot to do, not only with what really happened, but also with what was going on within their own hearts much as it is with people today. Perhaps we can see ourselves and other people we know in those familiar stories, especially if we hear from them in their own words. So we now take you to the city of Jerusalem to that time just after Jesus was crucified and before His resurrection...to hear from Simon Peter. Simon Peter My name is Simon. Oh, maybe you have heard me called Peter you know, "The Rock?" Jesus gave me that name way back in the beginning. I'm sure he meant it as an inspiration, but now I've gone and messed it all up beyond fixing. If I ever was a rock, what I turned into now is just plain mud. Maybe I should explain a little more. I have been able to call myself a follower of Jesus of Nazareth for the past three years. My brother, Andrew, first introduced me to him. Eventually we and our business partners, James and John, also joined his band of disciples. To say the least, fishermen are not usually noted for ever having great thoughts, except for things like, "It sure looks like rain to me!" But we, our little fishing company, were not just your typical guys. We may not have great minds, but we tried to think real thoughts.

We have diverse literary collections and content
In today's world of corporate publishing, value is placed on works that sell to broad markets. Quick turnover, high-visibility marketing campaigns for bestsellers, and corporate 'superstore' bookstores have all made it difficult for unique and older texts to be published. (Further, the costs this marketing adds to all books discourage leisure reading as a common practice.) The EServer (founded in 1990 as the English Server) attempts to provide an alternative niche for quality work. We offer 44 collections on such diverse topics as contemporary art, race, Internet studies, sexuality, drama, design, multimedia, accessible publishing and current political and social issues. In addition to written works, we publish hypertext, audio and even video recordings. Our collections grow as we welcome new contributions, and as we teach new members how to publish works to the Web and to the million or so readers who visit our site per week.

She loves sushi, indie music, MST3K before they ruined it with all those extra characters in those last episodes, and temporary tattoos. by: Jennifer Layton

I always see international student exchange programs advertised in magazines, and our local chapter of the Rotary Club is trying to recruit high school students to participate. I’d like to step in and help out with my own testimonial. When I was sixteen, I spent a semester in Barcelona. For a young, introverted, conservative girl who had never been outside of the country before, it was a life-changing experience. Allow me to share some entries from the journal I kept while I was attending the American School of Barcelona in 1985: JANUARY 16
Today was my first day of school in Barcelona. I was so excited! I hoped to make lots of friends. I made sure I had all my school supplies and got there early so I could find my way around. A bunch of kids were hanging out in front of the building, smoking cigarettes. One of them turned out to be the Drama teacher. He curses a lot.

Every child is born with creative potential, but this potential may be stifled if care is not taken to nurture and stimulate creativity. Creativity shows one's uniqueness. It is the individual saying: "I can be; I can do." Isn't this what we want for our children? Creativity is the ability to see things in a new and unusual light, to see problems that no one else may even realize exist, and then come up with new, unusual, and effective solutions to these problems.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 13 - SUNDAY, SEPT. 29 Directed by Michael Driscoll
Alan Ayckbourn's play is a mix of farce and feeling, of double-takes and tears. Set in the future - where everything's changed but human nature - an android actress has more wit and warmth than those near her, robot or human. A washed-up, boozing director, and an idealistic, young writer teach her about falling in love and getting laughs.
SWEET CHARITY FRIDAY, NOV. 1 - SATURDAY, NOV. 23 Choreographed by Chris Patterson
Directed by Chris Patterson
This Broadway hit, adapted by Neil Simon from the Fellini film Nights of Cabiria, follows the story of Charity, a dance hall girl whose trusting heart is always being broken. 2001 Lenten Drama Series Jesus was crucified after an extraordinary series of events. The lives of those most intimately associated with that outcome have been frozen in our minds as examples to be either copied or avoided. In them we can sometimes see our own characteristics, for better or for worse. There is one whom we perhaps have the most trouble understanding and it is his life we now look into as we hear from Judas. Judas Since I was a boy, I have always been a patriot. I played David and the Philistines with my brothers. My hero was my namesake, Judas the Maccabee, who freed our people from the foreign oppressors. He was strong. He was brave. He was clever. As a man, I found some who shared my zeal for the nation. We often met together and planned. The Romans were powerful and cruel. We would have to beat them by superior intelligence and guile, constantly on the alert for an opportunity, exploiting every chance occurrence. Not all my comrades agreed with me. Some felt we should wait for God to fight for us. I argued that the Lord uses brave men, willing to risk their all in the fight against Gentile oppressors.
