The nation's attention was focused on the inequities of racial segregation and discrimination against African Americans. Landmark actions - the Brown decision of 1954, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 - resulted. What changes can we attribute to this era of activism? Has America achieved equal rights for all its citizens? Children are naturally curious and eager to explore, pretend, and discover for themselves. At Childtime, we capitalize on children's natural curiosity by providing a learning environment rich in materials to explore, manipulate, and talk about. Children are encouraged to question, to experiment, to think, and to reason. Our classroom environments are organized with a selection of toys, books, and materials - all accessible to children. Each week, caregivers and teachers facilitate a variety of activities around a specific area of study. Each activity supports a developmental goal and/or enhances the understanding of a concept.
