The age-specific activities focus on ten major earth science themes related to natural or human-induced change taking place in or on the earth. As students carry out these activities, they discover and describe key principles underlying earth science. At the same time, they are developing essential critical thinking skills. Designed for ease of implementation, each activity includes a teacher background section introducing grade-appropriate science concepts and terminology, a section on setting up and performing the investigation, and suggested critical thinking questions. The materials for the activities are simple, inexpensive, and easy to obtain.
