~Also known as Easter Story Cookies~
This is a great recipe to teach your Children the REAL story of Easter. Teach them that the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior is not dead but He has Risen. You could even sing this chorus while you make the cookies. "We serve a Risen Savior. He's in the World today."
This activity can be done as a "family" or for Sunday School. Of course for the Sunday School class you might need to just hand it out to the class with a note to the parents. I have made a "text only" page for this purpose. Annie's Resurrection Cookies Text Only Page Grandparents might considering doing this with their grandchildren this year too!!! So Grab your Apron and Let's Get Started!!!!!!! You will need:

1 teaspoon vinegar
3 egg whites

1 wooden spoon scotch tape Bible Instructions: These are to be made the evening before Easter. Preheat oven to 300F. *** (this is very important - don't wait until you are half done with the recipe). The Story of the Resurrection
    from Matthew 28
In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward t he first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow; And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not; for I know that ye seek Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; for he is risen, as he said. Come see the place where the Lord lay.
And go quickly, and tell his disciples
that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee. There shall ye see him; lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from
the sepulcher with fear and great joy,
and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and worshiped him. From the King James version of the Bible Click here to learn more about God's love

24. Teachers In Focus - How To Teach About Religious Holidays

For years she did not think she could teach her students religious Christmas carols. Instead, she taught them "Jingle Bells" and "Frosty the Snowman." She then learned that the law allowed her to teach the children traditional carols. As she started a lesson on Christmas carols, she explained to the children that they were going to learn some songs about Jesus Christ. Some of her students gasped in disbelief. When she asked them why they were so shocked, they explained that they thought she was swearing. To her surprise, the teacher realized these children didn't even know that Jesus was a real person. They only thought it was a name used for cursing! Without understanding Christianityat least in its broadest outlinesit is impossible to understand either American culture or history. Yet many teacherseven Christian teachersare reluctant to teach about religion in their classrooms. In addition to a general squeamishness about the topic, most teachers do not understand that the law allows them to teach about religion in the classroom.

Sermon by Kevin Knobloch Mother's Day Sermon Creator, redeemer, sustainer, in your words we pray: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." On this mother's day, I come before you to proclaim that I love women, and I am surrounded by the women I love most, and that makes me a happy and rich person. I am blessed in having Liz as my life's soul mate and the mother of my children with whom I will celebrate our 20th anniversary this August. Unimaginable joy arrived with my beautiful and bright daughters, Tori and Molly. Like each of you I also have a beloved mother, who successfully raised seven children by rubbing two nickels together. We were hardly Angela's Ashes , but it was lean, and her unyielding love and never flagging perseverance through it all produced a pretty respectable lot of healthy, contributing adults and now 15 grandchildren. I have three sisters, each of whom is a mother, and many women friends. And a very special place in my heart is reserved for our spiritual mother and sister, Linda.

Saint Joseph and Men in the Family
Some might wonder why we chose to dedicate this issue to Saint Joseph when May is almost automatically thought of as Mary's month. Some wonderful Marian devotions take place in May. Mother's Day is in May. May and June are the perfect times to plan and plant a Mary garden. June is right on the edge of summer holidays. Mothers around the world are preparing activities for their children, shaking out the warm weather clothes and praying for the virtues exemplified by Our Blessed Mother: patience, kindness, serentity, acceptance, faith, and love. What better theme for an issue? But May 1st is the Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker. He stands at the 'entrance' to the month, guarding, protecting and supporting her Maternity. As Mary's husband and the Christ Child's foster father, Saint Joseph was an essential and indispensible member of the Holy Family, and vital part of God's plan for our Redemption. I find it significant that we begin Mary's month through Saint Joseph the Worker, model for Catholic men. Husbands and fathers are essential and indispensible to families today, yet how often is this recognised? How many men truly realise how vital they are to the health of their families, and even more important, how often are they told? Men's contribution and role in the family extends far beyond conception and a regular pay check. They have a vital role to play in the life and development of their families, as vital a part as Joseph's.

http://www.geocities.com/dstew56292/Children/childeaster.html
THE MIRACLE OF EASTER
The morning after Jesus died, a man named Joseph from Arimathea got permission to bury his body. With the help of others, Joseph laid Jesus' body in a new tomb that had been carved out of solid rock. Then they rolled a big stone across the opening of the tomb. The next day, the religious leaders of the country remembered what Jesus had said: "After three days I will rise again." They decided to send some Roman guards to watch the tomb. That Sunday, something very amazing happened at the tome. An earthquake shook the ground, and an angel of God appeared. He rolled away the stone that closed the tomb and sat on it. The angel looked as bright as lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The Roman guards were very afraid. They trembled and fell down, as though they were dead. Then Jesus walked out of the tomb. He had returned to life, as he said he would ! A little later, some women who had known Jesus came to his tomb. They were surprised to see that the great stone had been moved. Inside the tomb, they saw the angel. The angel said, "Jesus is not here. He has risen just as he said he would. Quickly now, go tell his followers that Jesus is alive ! You will see him in Galilee."

  • What is the Lesson? Please note that these are the notes we used in our presentation, thus they do not read as if they were written as an article. Also the quotes we used in the presentation are, in the main, only given by their reference in the second edition. Please look these up as they are quite relevant. The Tradition. Easter is the single most important festival in the Christian Church. It is the commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The resurrection being the culmination of his ministry on earth. It was the ordination of a new covenant, where man was redeemed from sin and death. It has, since that event which it commemorates, influenced by way of its interpretation most of the western world regardless of the faith of those it touched. The importance of the resurrection to Christian thought and thus to our experience in this world cannot be over emphasised. It, with the crucifixion, lay the foundation of Jesus' teachings of forgiveness and their subsequent misinterpretation aimed at keeping alive the thought of fear that it was really meant to dispel. This thought of fear was in existence long before Jesus. Restricting ourselves to the Judeo-Christian symbols of the

Teaching in the UK Education in the UK has seen a great many changes in recent times. The Education Reform Act in 1988 introduced major changes in the British Education System, which included the introduction of a National Curriculum and national testing. The Department of Education and Employment (Dfee) was the central government office responsible for education in England. During June 2001 the Prime Minister of England announced the restructuring of the Department for Education and Employment to form a new Department to be called the Department for Education and Skills This department will now have the responsibility for education, training and life-long learning. The aim of this department is to improve the standards in the education system. Subject - Math
Grade Level - Pre-K - 1 Usually, springtime is a good time for kindergarten children to review and practice some of the skills that they've been taught and this can be a fun interactive way of doing so. Objective: Review addition, subtraction, and learn problem-solving skills. Materials: An Easter Basket, Easter grass and several plastic eggs.(optional: chalkboard and chalk) Activity: Place 2-10 eggs in the basket. Have a child count the eggs that are in the basket. Then ask 2 children to hide the eggs in a designated area. (Do not use the entire classroom, this could cause time consuming problems)
Select 1-2 children to look for the eggs. Stop him or her occasionally and ask him or her how many eggs has he or she found so far. Ask "How many more do you need to look for?"
