Handouts for: Lesson One Lesson Two Lesson Three Lesson Five
Lesson #1 - Entrepreneur: Anita Roddick Objectives:
    (1) To learn about a living entrepreneur and to identify the characteristics of entrepreneurship.
    (2) To discuss attitudes to entrepreneurial activities and encourage children to formulate their own points of view. Teaching Notes:
This activity should begin as a class discussion and end with children working in pairs on the "How Would You React?" worksheet. Alternatively, teachers may wish to discuss attitudes as a whole class. Focus Activity Preparation:
    (1) Copy the "how Would You React?" worksheet or devise your own.
    (2) Choose a story which reflects the life of an inspirational entrepreneur or inventor: for example - Richard Branson, Henry Ford, Bill Gates, or a famous entrepreneur from your country. Alternatively, use this story about founder of the Body Shop, Anita Roddick. Focus Activity:
Anita Roddick opened her first Bodyshop in Brighton in March 1976. She wanted to make body lotions and cosmetics from natural ingredients and this was most unusual at the time. Most stores sold similar products which were very expensive. contained a lot of chemicals, and claimed to make people more beautiful! This annoyed Anita; she wanted her products to be as natural as possible. She knew this was possible because she had travelled in "less-developed" parts of the world and seen people mixing products from nature to make cosmetics which seemed to be just as good as those which were so expensive in the stores.

Learning from the Forest. Lessons by Teachers
is a collection of teaching activities and lesson plans developed by school teachers who attended a Wood A Remarkable Fiber workshop or the Ecology, Economics and the Environment Forest Tour.
Wood A Remarkable Fiber is a one (2 days) or two (4 days) credit course offered by the University of Idaho's Department of Forest Products. This course provides hands-on learning experiences for creation of activities in wood technology suitable for use in educational curricula. Teachers participating in the course learn about the many products made of wood, wood properties, papermaking, and other topics related to the wood products industry. Discussions include many of the social impacts and issues related to sustainable forest products. Participants are asked to develop lesson plans for their students, which build on information they were given during the workshop. Many of these lesson plans have been quite unique and innovative. We would like to share a few of them with you.
