The Distance Degree Option for the master's degree in entomology follows the graduate school requirements for an Option III masters with additional requirements set by the Department of Entomology.
Courses may also be taken without participation in the academic degree program for continuing education units, professional development or self-improvement.

    The Spider and Scorpion collections are amongst the most important in South Africa, while the Solifuge collection is probably the largest. Some of the smaller collections such as the millipedes and pseudoscorpions, although not as large, are of particular significance. Insecta The Orthoptera, Hymenoptera and Odonata collections are especially important.
