"Dis be leaf?"
asked the caterpillar incredulously, taking a byte.
(Many, if not most, Great Truths require an initial, strong, voluntary suspension of disbelief.)
The Caterpillar and Alice looked at each other for some time in silence: at last the Caterpillar took the hookah out of its mouth, and addressed her in a languid, sleepy voice. "Who are you? " said the Caterpillar. Hi Emmett, I hope you have discovered this site that I'm using[grins] I really miss you...and it's a thursday night! I hope to see you again soon. Family Science Program
The Family Science program is one of the initiatives promoted through Science in Schools. The Department recognises the importance of parents in encouraging students' learning. The Family Science program assists parents to encourage an interest in science in their children at home and promote a wider understanding of science in the community. Schools benefit from increased parental involvement in the science education of their students. A pilot funding program of 37 schools and extension education settings in 1999 has been used to develop a variety of models that may be used in school settings, all of which encourages the involvement of families in science activities. A range of documentation, including possible models of organisation, modular science units and possibly complemented by multimedia and support materials, is being developed as a resource to assist schools to conduct their own family science activities. Resources are available through the SET for Success section of SOFWeb http://www.sofweb.vic.edu.au/science/famsci/
