Call NOW: Proudly Presents: with Dr. Quinton Quark Slapstick Science is an astounding, exciting, and entertaining series of science assemblies and workshops which use the circus as a laboratory. Guaranteed to stimulate curiosities and motivate students to have fun with physics and chemistry! Slapstick Science is best known for offering gang buster assemblies to large (200 to 600) audiences, but workshops are also available to accompany the assemblies. Slapstick Science workshops offer the students a chanced to further explore the units introduced in the shows with Hands-On demos they conduct themselves. Grades 4 to 6: More Sophisticated Safety Message Grade 7 and Up: Identity and Security In these hours of national agony, as we sense our security vanishing in the flames and smoke of unforeseen terrorism, many of us wonder what – and how much – to say to our children. The very sudden and shocking nature of the multi-pronged attack on America makes it all the more essential for Moms and Dads to find the right words, and the right way to communicate a message of safety and family security. Here is Family Education Network family therapist Carleton Kendrick’s ages-and-stages advice for how to express your own thoughts and feelings – and listen to kids talk – about what’s happened. Preschoolers: Limit Media Exposure During the Persian Gulf War and following the bombing of the Oklahoma federal building, many preschool teachers observed young children reenacting scenes from television news broadcasts in their classroom play. But while children may mimic scenes of tragedy, they lack the cognitive ability to fully comprehend what they see. Scenes of carnage may seem cartoon-like to some, truly terrifying to others.

Here's a cool quiz with nifty questions like: What is the biggest snowflake on record? Bet you can't guess... Snow Crystals : While no two snowflakes are alike, they can be generally classified into six basic patterns as a result of unique atmospheric conditions present at the crystal's birth. Sparks: Web-Based Resources
A campfire starts with a spark. You need matches to ignite the flame and logs to keep the fire going. What's your teaching area? What do students need to learn? What resources do you already have available? In what areas could you use some additional information, examples, or excitement to build the learning environment? Start with a few good websites. For your first experience, you may wish to focus on just one website. However, keep in mind that this website could be unavailable when you need it. In addition, students may need varied perspectives or multiple sources to support their point. Some students are more visual learners, while others will gain more from reading the text or listening to an oral reading. Consider the needs and interests of all your students as you select web-based resources.
