    Phone: 0385 -440992 FAX : 0385 -222 226 BRIEF HISTORY OF THE ORGANISATION
The All Manipur Football Association was established in the year 1976 under Registration No. 2028 0f 1976 of the Registrar of Societies, Government of Manipur. Before this Football Activities in the State were taken up by All Manipur Sports Association. It was with the directive of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and on the principle of one game one Association that the AMFA got separated from AMSA. The AMFA is an affiliated unit of All India Football Federation and Manipur Olympic Association. Before 1992, AMFA was directly responsible for all activities including Inter-Club Leagues, Inter Districts, State/National Championships , preparation of State Teams and other Football Development Programmes. However from 1992, Inter Club Leagues were directly assigned to the District Associations. ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE ASSOCIATION So far, Manipur has produced as many as 200 Internationals. At present, a good number of footballers from this tiny state are playing for many big clubs all over the Indian Sub-continent including, East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Md. Sporting Union, Air India, Services, Churchil Brothers etc.etc.etc. earning fabulous incomes. In the recent years, there are at least some players from this state in the Indian team squad. Manipur women players have complete domination in the country. Our girls lifted the Sr. Nationals Trophy for a record 8 times out of 10 editions. Not only this, there are 9-10 players of this state in the Indian Women's teams of all age groups.

Five Greek cities will have the opportunity to host matches of the Olympic Football Tournament, namely Athens, Thessaloniki, Patra, Heraklio and Volos. This is the oldest and most traditional international tournament in world football. After serving as a demonstration sport at the first Olympic Games, the football tournament of the Olympic Games reached its peak in the 1920s when the tournament must be regarded as the world championship of that time. Football was introduced as a demonstration sport at the 1896 Olympic Games in Athens and became an official Olympic sport at the London Games in 1908. Nearly a century passed before women's football was included in the Competition Programme at the 1996 Atlanta Games.

    Making marvellous strides
Women's football moving into the 21st century A proposal by the Norwegian association's delegate, Ellen Wille, at the 45th FIFA Congress in Mexico City in 1986 acted as a torch, which lit the way for a movement that serves as a shining example of FIFA's readiness for change. On behalf of her association and all women footballers, Ellen Wille impressed upon FIFA that more should be done to further women's football and unfold the latent potential in this sector of the game.
Women only was the order of the day for the play-off for third place in China: referee Claudia de Vasconcelos from Brazil supervising the choice of sides with Pia Sundhage (Sweden, on left) and Marion Isbert (Germany). Photo FIFA
To the surprise of one or two male delegates present, the reply resounded more clearly and firmly than anyone had expected. Presiding over the debates at the Congress, João Havelange not only agreed entirely with the Norwegian female representative but also assured her that he personally would back the women's football movement, setting up an ad hoc committee as the first step.

    http://www.dominicaolympiccommittee.org/history.htm
    THE DOMINICA OLYMPIC COMMITTEE
    History
The idea of formation of a National Olympic Committee evolved from the existing and functional Dominica Amateur Athletic Association (DAAA) and Dominica Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA). The Dominica Amateur Athletic Association was founded by Oswald B. Savarin and Felix A. Wilson in December 1982 responding to the call for its formation by Stephen Agar and Julius Lewis, two athletes of the Striders Athletics Club. Between late November 1985 and early 1986 a few sporting Associations were invited to the Sixth Form College (as it was called then) to a meeting to explore the formation of an Olympic Committee. Rupert Lake from Antigua gave some guidelines based on his experience and participation as an officer of the Antigua Olympic Committee. A Steering Committee to include Rolston St. Hilaire (secretary) and Felix Wilson (vice president) from the (DAAA), Joyce Rabess (Netball), Clifford Severin (DLTA) (treasurer) and Francis Dupigny (president). Dupigny became the first President nominated by Clifford Severin and elected in absentia. Dupigny had just retired from Barclays Bank as Manager and had indicated to Severin his willingness to serve.
